The All Progressives Congress, Ondo State Chapter and Ondo State chapter of the Buhari Campaign Organisation have assured Nigerians that President Goodluck Jonathan will meet a resounding defeat in Ondo State in spite of his incumbency.

According to them, the rising profile of the Katsina born retired General, Muhammadu Buhari, before and after his choice as APC’s presidential flag bearer, indicated that it would be a landslide victory for him in the state.

This was contained in a congratulatory message on Gen. Buhari’s victory at the last presidential primaries, which was jointly signed by the APC Publicity Secretary, Omo’oba Adesanya and BCO Coordinator, Mr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele.

“We therefore congratulate the Peoples’ General, the Grand Commander of Discipline, Senior Apostle of War Against Indiscipline and Corruption, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari on his emergence as our great Party’s Presidential Candidate in a free, fair, credible, acceptable and unprecedented Presidential primary. No doubt, your victory is the hope of all, especially, the common Nigerians.

APC is not that strong here so a landslide victory is unlikely in Ondo State.

However, the Buhari narrative is playing well on the streets now, so he has a good chance of winning.

Basically, people are just fed up. They want to try someone else.

Governor Mimiko has congratulated President Goodluck Jonathan on his emergence as the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the presidential election due for February next year.

In a congratulatory message to the president, Dr Mimiko said the peaceful and rancour free process leading to the emergence of the president as the candidate of the party is a pointer to his popularity and recognition of his achievements since becoming the presi dent of the country.

Mimiko who promised that the president will win in Ondo state convincingly said “ the president has demonstrated overtime that he genuinely love this coun try and would do everything humanly possible to ensure that it remains an indivisible entity.”

The governor said “the time is now for Nigerians to ensure that we rally round the president to achieve his dream of a better Nigeria.

“His achievements in the area of agriculture, educa tion, health, transportation, road rehabilitation, energy and the economy are laud able and should continue so that he can realise his dream for the country”

Governor Mimiko further said, “since it was the will of God to make the president assume office in the first place, the same God who has also ensured he wins the party’s candidature without any rancour will also ensure that he gets elected as the next president of our dear nation next year”.
