After we have finished our course on free verse, I will like us to do more research on the style. We will be starting a new style next week Tuesday.

But today, were going to talk about a few facts on the free verse.

1. The free verse is not the first style that poetry was written in.

Contrary to what some people may believe, the free verse wasn't actually the first style that poetey was written in. Infact relatively, the free style is a modern style.

2. The free verse was developed just in the 19th century.

3. It was derived from mainly the writing styles of two French poets Justave Ghan and Jules Lafourge.

now let's talk about #3. The poets never called it free verse, but it was noticed that they wrote in a unique way which couldn't be defined. It didn't have a rhythm or rhyme scheme.

This, which means that most or all poets who came before them always chose a rhyme or rhythm scheme for their poems.
