Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office Observatory

Observatories inside Tokyo
The best views can be enjoyed on sunny days between December and February, or on the day after a strong wind has been blowing. The appearance of a white snow-capped Mt. Fuji is indeed sublime.Twice a year, the sun sparkles like a jewel just as it rises above or sinks down from the summit of Mt. Fuji. This is called 'Diamond Fuji', attracting large numbers of people to locations where they can see this rare sight.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office Observatory (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo)
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office located in Shinjuku-ku has observatories on the 45th Floor of the north and south sides of its Main Building (the North Observatory and the South Observatory). The view you command from a height of 202 meters above ground level is magnificent, and you will be able to observe Mt. Fuji on a clear day. Although it is normally open from 09:30 to 23:00, it is open from very early in the morning on New Year's Day. (Please be noted that the South observatory closes at 17:30 every day; and during the Year-end and New year period, they are closed from Dec. 29 to 31 and Jan. 2 and 3.)

Tokyo Tower (Minato-ku, Tokyo)
From both the Main Observatory (admission fee 820 yen, 120 to 125 meters above ground level) and the Special Observatory (600 yen, 223 meters above ground level), you can command a view of Mt. Fuji. The Main Observatory has a café as well as a 'look-down window' floored with glass

'Tokyo City View' of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower (Minato-ku, Tokyo)
The 'Tokyo City View' observation deck on the 52nd Floor is an airy, open space with a vaulted ceiling more than 11 meters high, and entirely fitted out with glass, offering a 360-degree view. As Roppongi Hills Mori Tower is located in the heart of Tokyo, you can enjoy a close view of the Tokyo Tower, the Tokyo Bay Area, and other famous spots of Tokyo. The admission fee is 1,500 yen. Why not make a visit towards the end of the day when you can enjoy the silhouette of Mt. Fuji against the twilit sky, followed by evening illumination of skyscrapers?
