When Did Happy Christmas Become Happy Holidays? by Nobody: 2:14pm On Dec 23, 2014
I have noticed a subtle (or maybe not-so-subtle) attempt by some organisations to replace 'Happy Christmas' with 'Happy Holidays'.

And I know why. We all know why. They are scared of The Truth.

But they are wasting their time, because Christ can never be removed from the world. He owns and rules the world and all of mankind.

A Happy Christmas to you all! smiley

Point 1 : It's not subtle. They are only appealing to the various denonimations of the employees. It's easier to say Happy Holidays to Jehovah witnesses, Jews,ATRs, Hindus e.t.c without making anyone feel offended than Happy christmas.

Point 2: Not everyone celebrates christmas and gives a f*ck about the character christmas was about. Everyone is more concerned about the end of year bonus, 13th month, hamper gifts, end of year parties, free days to spend with familiy away from work e.t.c
that comes with the Holiday.

Point 3: Santa is rapidly becoming the face of Christmas and not some white baby in a manger. Santa can be easily commercialised and accepted by most religions. Check around, go to parks the theme is 90% about Santa and his reindeers. And No, they are not wasting their time, they are making huge sales from Santa theme.

It's a reminder that humakind have matured enough to slowly but steadily walk away from empty myths.

It is not surprising that the more primitive and least matured of humanity are the ones disturbed by this positive trend.

Sunday was a day set to honour the "sun god" while december 25th was initally used to celebrate the same "sun god". These days were changed by the government at the time to suit their own selfish ambitions.

It has nothing to do with Jesus

Hmm, okay. But why are they not concerned about offending people during other religious festivities? I'm sure you hear of Ramadan Kareem, Eid el Fitri, Happy Diwali, Hanukkah, and so on.

Sorry, that's how the world rolls! It easier to make a satirical cartoon of Jesus and get away with it as christians won't ask for your head but try that with Monsieur Mohammed...You know the answer.

I once attended an end of the year party(this year actually) of a private organisation headed by a Christian Oga. And on the item No 7 of the day of the Menu was boldly written Halal compliant food. Now make of that what you will.

Islam is an extreme. How about the other religions?

You don't need to answer that question. It's a rhetorical one (as is the title of this post), to make you and others think.

The point I am trying to make is that those who brought these myths to you astruth were hardly sincere when they gifted you these myths.

Their societies have since matured and no longer have a need for these myths.

Nigerian/ Africans, on the other hand, are people suffering from Stockholms syndrome , where people fall in love with the person or object that enslaves them.
Nigerians are mental slaves to foreign religions, even when the same religions are being discarded like toxic waste by those who sold it to us.

In other words my dear, if you are fretting over this removal of Christ from Christmas, it is the clearest evidence that you have been left HOLDING THE BAG.

I understand the point you are trying to make. What I am saying in response is that it is not only Africans that have observed / raised this subject. It is very much discussed in the West, and other parts of the world.

I wouldn't call in fretting either. You don't fret when you know you're right. it's more an 'observation'.
Re: When Did Happy Christmas Become Happy Holidays? by Weah96: 3:39pm On Dec 23, 2014
Christmas is used by corporations as a marketing period, not for religion. American pastors and Christians are flooding to Walmart and Target looking for cheap Flat screen TVs and washing machines. Young people are shopping for outfits to wear to Christmas parties at different clubs Jesus is the LAST thing on anyone's mind here. Besides, December 25 began as a PAGAN holiday and was NEVER the birthday of Jesus in the first place.

What is the TRUE ORIGIN of Christmas? Where did it come from? Did you know Yeshua the Messiah was born nowhere NEAR December 25, but that was the "birth day" of the sun- god, "Sol Invictus" or "Mithras"? Did you know December 25 was the concluding day of the pagan winter festival called the "Saturnalia"? Where did "Santa Claus" come from? The "Christmas tree"? How did this pagan feast become connected with "Christianity"? Here is an amazing "whale of a tale"!
