Several doctors lost their jobs after they were caught taking selfies with patients during surgeries, health officials in China said.


The doctors performed surgeries at a
hospital in Shaanxi, when they were seen taking group photos with unconscious patients. Several photos, which show doctors and nurses wearing scrubs while unconscious
patients lay on the operating table in the operating room, were recently uploaded on social media sites.

On one of the photos, a man can be seen making a V-sign, while other doctors were bent over the patient. As a result, the Xi’an Bureau of Public Health fired three senior executives of the Fengcheng Hospital. The other staff members seen in the
photos have been reprimanded and they lost three months pay. The hospital issued a public statement
and an apology, explaining that the
photos were taken to mark the last day in that particular operating room before it was closed for renovations. (WWWN)

i dont think the doctors actions were professional enough due to the condition of the patient.

A sefie with a recouping patient is understandable and warmly, but one with an unconscious and dying patient in the middle of surgery; a life or death ish! Hian, very disappointing and unprofessional.

They had obviously done what they needed to do.It takes less than 2 minutes to take a picture.It was not like they opened the body and went away for some hours.

Taking selfie in an OR? Goes a long way to show how unserious they are. They probably forget that every minute counts in an OR!
