The Rivers State Governor Rt Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi emerges the winner in the preliminary polls of the best Nigerian governors challenge (see polls here). He garnered a total of 70 points out of 118 points representing 59.32% of the total points. Lagos State governor Babatunde Fashola settled for the second position accumulating a total of 14 points representing 11.86%. While Godswill Akpobio the Governor of Akwa Ibom state came third with a total of 10 points representing 8.48%. SECTORAL BREAK DOWN OF THE POLL RESULTS Agriculture: Rivers State Governor Chibuike Amachi emerged the best governor in Agricultural sector by accumulating a total of 8 point out of 16 representing 50% of the total points. Governor Ahmed Abdulfatah came second with a total point of 3 representing 18.75% while Anambra state Governor Willi Obiano came third with a total point of 2 representing 12.5%. Infrastructure: In infrastructure Akwa Ibom State Governor Godswill Akpabio came tops with a total of 9 points out of 22 points representing 40.91% of the total points. The Rivers state Governor Chibuike Amaechi came second with a total of 6 points representing 27.27%. Lagos State governor Babatunde Fashola came third after securing 5 points representing 22.73%. Education: In Education the Rivers State Governor Chibuike Amaechi came tops with a total of 17 points out of 23 points representing 73.91% of the total points. The Imo State governor came second after securing 5 points representing 21.73%. While the Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola came third with 1 point representing 4.357%. Health: In Health the Rivers State governor Chibuike Amaechi came tops with a total of 20 points out of 21 representing 95.24% of the total points. Lagos State governor Babatunde Fashola came second with 1 point representing 4.76%. Security: In security Lagos State governor Babatunde Fashola came tops with 4 points out of 12 points representing 33.33%. Rivers State and Anambra State governors Chibuike Amaechi and willi Obiano tied at the second position with 3 points each representing 25% while Enugu and Oyo state governors Sullivan Chime and Abiola Ajimobi jointly settled for the third place with 1 point each representing 8.33%. Rural and regional development: In this sector the Rivers state governor Chibuike Amaechi came tops by securing 3 points out of 6 points representing 50% of the total points. Akwa Ibom, Jigawa and Enugu state governors Godswill Akpabio, Sule Lamido and Sullivan Chime came jointly second with 1 point each representing 16.67%. Job creation/human capital Dev.: In this sector the Rivers State governor Chibuike Amaechi came tops with a total of 12 out of 13 points representing 92.31% while the Lagos State governor came second with 1 point representing 7.69% Resource Prudence/management: In this sector the Lagos and Kano State governors Babatunde Fashola and Rabiu Kwankwaso came tops with 2 points each out of 5 point representing 40% while the Rivers State governor settles for the second position with 1 point representing 20%.
