Writings Of An Optimist! by Nobody: 3:41pm On Dec 31, 2014
Moving deeper and deeper,
A zeal to satisfy our unsatiable desire,
Trudging the dense and mighty,
The dangers,we cared about less,
Moving into the heart of darkness,
And our transition into savagery.
On a quest to satisfy our greedy lust,
The darkness tempted us,
And we followed like a curse.
Penetrating deeper and deeper,
Our souls became darker,
And our senses awake,
To the reality of evil..

Nice poem bro. Please try and put the lines in stanza (s) so that it can enhance proper reading and also check the punctuation, e.g. In line 5 and 8 the commas shouldn't be there... Same with other lines too. But generally your piece is awesome (what's the title?). Keep it up and coming bro.

ASAKE...

Tears dropping like the crying heavens,
Heart beating like a sprinter racing,
Expectations high like eagles in mid-heavens,
She prays her hope does not end in the coffin.

Asake!!! The maiden who shakes the hearts of kings,
Beauty ancient like the rusty roofs of Ibadan,
Most sought after amongst kins,
Virtue constant like the legendary Ìgí òdán.

Joy lost like a hunter in the great Igbo Élédúmàré,
Asake broods the absence of her heartrob,
Akanji!!! okunrin meje, akikanju bi éré,
Gone into the heart of battle.

Distance notwithstanding,
Seven moons gone and love still strong,
Asake offered sacrifices to the gods, still
Reminding Ogún to bring him back with no wrong.

Akanji! Akanji!
May the gods be with you,
Mighty man of valour,
Gone into battle for his fatherland.

Never giving up,
The thread of love sustained her,
Remembered with nostalgia
The moment spent together.

Waited for donkey years,
Warriors arrival she anticipated,
Asake never knew
They've all been given to the grave's warm embrace..

A feeling in my heart
Springing out of my soul
Mesmerizing my being
Hypnotizing my thoughts
Controlling my spirit.

Love; that invisible feeling,
Binding hearts together
Has come through Eve's progeny,
And possesed my person.

Derin, the gracious damsel,
Pleasing to the eyes and appealing to the sense,
Intelligence runs through her veins,
Character like the proverbial woman,
A touch of stubborness her flaw.

The tinder of love ignited in me,
Fed with the gasoline of care and affection,
On the platform of passion.
Our love has come to stay,
And will always be,
Dating forward like the age of Methuselah!
