While many families are happy to have crossed over to 2015, others are bereaved and sad on the first day of a new promising year. This is the case of families of three people that were shot dead at a petrol station in bakassi in Cross River State.

According to Sun, New Year’s tragedy struck Ikang community in Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State as armed gunmen stormed a filling station at Bakassi and shot three persons dead.
Investigations by Daily Sun revealed that the incident occurred at about 9pm on Tuesday when the robbers numbering about seven invaded the petrol station located at Ikang and subsequently opened fire on a taxi cab, killing the driver, popularly known as Santos and two passengers on board whose identity could not be ascertained as a the time of filing this report.

The incident occurred barely one week after bullets from rampaging robbers felled six persons.
Recently, a robbery gang invaded one of the fuel stations located at Palm Street in Calabar South and killed a policeman and three others and made away with some millions of naira.

We pray that their soul will rest in peace and that such events wont visit or come near us this new year.
