Do you know that you can easily check if the
new 100 Naira Commemorative Centenary
Banknote is original or fake? By making use of
your smartphone, you can simply check the
genuineness of this new one hundred Naira
note. There are security features that came with
the note. They will be absent on the fake
because it would normally cost them more to
put these features on the counterfeit copies.
The new note has features for the visually
impaired and can easily adapt to machines and
authentication devices. While announcing the
launch date of the new note. the Central Bank of
Nigeria Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele said the
new note was designed with enhanced security
to offer robust resistance against counterfeiting.
How to know if the new 100 Naira
Commemorative Note is Original
I am going to group these features into two
groups, (1) those you can see with your naked
ayes and (2) those you can make use of your
phone or other authentication devices to check.
The easily-detected 100 Naira Centenary Note
Security Features
1. The front side of the note is a public
authentication features, window micro-optics,
showing the national flag and numeral 100
indicating the value of the denomination and the
attainment of the centenary period.
2. The second is a spark feature of a rolling
manila bar which was the instrument used
during the slave trade era. A portrait of Chief
Obafemi Awolowo is retained both in the ink,
that is the interglow level, as a portrait and also
in a paper as a shadow image.
The QR or Barcode feature to verify
authenticity
1. At the backside of the Commemorative
Centenary Banknote, the CBN introduced a
feature called Quick Response Code (QRC). It is
a feature that highlights and sources all the
information about the centenary.
You don’t need to start looking for a QR Code
scanner to check this. You can simply make use
of your phone. What you need to do is to
download a QRC scanner to your phone. Below

I am going to show you with the scanner I
downloaded for my BBM.
1. Turn to the back of the N100 note
2. Look for the barcode somewhere on the
left half of the note as shown in the
image below.
3. Launch your QRC scanner and focus your
camera on the barcode
4. It should scan it quickly and provide a
link for you to click, open the link
You can also click the icon with the header
“Open in Browser”.
This link will open on your browser with a page
that contains all the information about the
centenary. It starts with a picture of President
Goodluck Jonathan, followed by a picture from
the amalgamation day at Tinubu street, Lagos,
Nigeria in 1914.
You will also see a picture of Prime Minister, Sir
Tafawa Balewa with regional Premiers Chief
Obafemi Awolowo- west, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe-
east, Dr. Endeley- Southern Cameroon and Sir
Ahmadu Bello- north in 1957.
Using the features listed here, you can tell if any
Commemorative Centenary 100 Naira note is
original or fake.

i doubt it if dollar or pounds has such features yet they will buy two of it

Nigerians protecting cheap things since time immemorial
can you imagine a guy password protecting a touch light phone?
