So... I decided to try poem writing, after been wowed by the seamless flow of poems from our legends on here. It's my very first one. And I decided to give it a shot as I really like to relate with abstract ideas. Disclaimer: Please, lower your expectations like seriously. I'm not trying to be King Solomon. hehe! Enjoy! 1 Like 1 Share |

~ AGAIN ~ The essence of living, Indepth awareness of humanity, Where adversity engulfs, Such dead end and darkness, Are you saying only you are here, Everyone's story has a little sorrow, You live again like a Phoenix. The essence of loving, Wholesome appreciation of sentiments, Jilt is the new ever after, Moments flow by like molten Sapphire, Deep blue silences within, Pain felt even with anaesthesia, You love again like Jesus. The essence of family, Certainly grasp its mileage, The apex of dysfunctionality, Our husbands have gone mad, Children chose to leave home, Who will uplift the totem, You embrace family again like Joseph. The essence of prayer, Total revelation of the masterkey, No transparent results yet, Prince of Persia is really busy, Does this deity even hear or listen, Satire and confusion before my closed eyes, You pray again like Silas. 8 Likes 5 Shares |

~ TIME~ Voyage through time, Implicitly standing in isolation, Laden with the lightening of your dreams, Slowly, steadily, surely, Experiences like whirlwind. Life's tide like sea waves, Appraised per head, You see through the wonder in your eyes, Where you sit at old age, You did stand as a youth. 1 Like 1 Share |

Marriage, A smile then a frown, laughter then silence Appreciation then resentments, support then refrain. With tears of regret flowing then with ecstasy a forever after erupting With flashes of anger and then with a down pour of forgiveness. With warm embrace and soft touches, then with harsh words and cold shoulders We see each other at the best and worst of times. Marriage is truly a potpourri of different experiences, emotions, feelings… But most of all it is an experience worth having for a lifetime if you get it right. 8 Likes 7 Shares |

Limerence Euphoria dented our trust Affection was top of the chart The Sun saw us dancing in it In piecemeal it vanished from eyes Grey areas amidst sentiments My breath yearns for your scent Too melancholic to be loved Memories only on heart's tablet Vida! The White Picket Fence I saw it on the pages of a magazine It would be such a beautiful scene A white picket fence across our yard So I rang the numbers on the business card The artisans set to work Measurements and dimensions Of what will house the memories of a clan A fortress when the world shuts you out But each nail driven to put sticks together Were piercings opening up hurts From grievances not confronted Of promises that were dishonored Even when the sticks stood vertical Aesthetic and a beauty to behold Finishing splashes of white emulsion Couldn't make us pure before each other So, I set this fence around my heart Such vintage work of applied art And though it attracts you to me There's no gate to let you in ...Rockcalvary & Jamean |
