President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday met behind closed doors with governors of the North-East states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.

The meeting which was aimed at finding a lasting solution to the insurgency in that part of the country was also attended by
security chiefs and relevant ministers.

All those who spoke with State House
correspondents at the end of the meeting expressed the hope that elections would hold in the troubled parts of the country next month despite the violence there.

They however said the need for the
deployment of more troops to the
troubled areas ahead of the elections
formed part of discussion at the meeting.

Those who spoke with journalists included the Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh; and the governors of Borno and Yobe States.

39days to the presidential election, our ever clueless certified president has decided to find the lasting solution to insurgency in the North East.

Can't wait for Buhari to become my next president. Nigerians have tolerated enough insecurity problems.

Enough is enough!

Nice move if they follow it to the letter atleast those nigerians in that region will not be de franchised because of the violence...

but its coming late, I hope this effort to return normalcy to that part of the country will not be sabotaged as usual...

You don't throw stone at anything/everything GEJ please...Is it coming late I would say, is the right step I would say...

The important thing here is finding a lasting solution to the problem in that region and if this move will stop it let's support it as nigerians having compassion for other displaced nigerian irrespective of our political views, whether its 2 days to election or 90 days to election...
