The Range Rover Evoque Convertible is set to enter production with similar looks to the 2012 concept car

Land Rover is all-set to add a convertible to the Range Rover Evoque range.

The company is expected to confirm that the Range Rover Evoque Convertible will join the award-winning SUV range later this year, three years after a concept version was shown off at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012.

While the concept which debuted at the Swiss show looked almost production ready, it had a clip-on fabric roof. Now our latest spy shots reveal that the car receives an electric fabric roof but the car’s styling remains unchanged from the motor show car.

The expected confirmation will finally mark an end to three years of debates within the firm about the car’s business case rather than engineering reasons, according to company insiders. Strong demand is expected, particularly from the USA, while a production version could get its airing by the middle of this year, possibly appearing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex at the end of June.
