No beef intended but I wonder how some folks are lobbying to fix a Hybrid. Those vehicle require extra highly qualified toyota trained specialists. Besides, the Hybrid electric system have very high voltage which can instantly knock a man down if handled with out professional guidance, knowledge of how to handle their repairs plus the right tools for such repairs. Some time ago, a kazeem bled the brake system of a highlander hybrid like he does to a gasoline vehicle. Till date, the owner is spending more on the squishy brake feel.
As for that ignorant mechanic starting up a Hybrid Accord without battery in Adanny01's thread, he's on his own, I wish him best of what comes his way.

General logic suggest you may need a new battery, and like others have mentioned, get a specialist to look at it. I hope you get it sorted. Kudos to taking that kind of car to naija. Same way I say Kudos to those who take Ferrari or use super car in Naija. The mind boggles.

The Prius got on the market at least ten years ago so third world is no excuse owners no getting informed is the main problem

10 years is not the issue, as long as theres expertise and availability of after market parts a vehicle will last, the whites whom you worship keep vehicles in the market for 20 years or more cos of after market parts, they have an organized system of storing parts from old vehicles in scrapyards, just that they prefer to used the term salvage, or reconditioned unit when referring to these parts.

I drive a 94 vento av had it for 3 yrs the parts are available and the vehicle is in good condition. where will the complainer get parts for his hybrid, even Toyota centre flies technicians from abroad to fix their hybrids, can the complainer pay for such services, he's better off buying a model that uses regular fuel.

Our present know how and state of affairs makes the owners ship of hybrids a disaster here, of what use is a car whose maximum range is not more than 40 km going to be in a traffic congested , pot hole ridden, epileptic powered cities like lagos, ph abj et al.

People should be realistic when buying these hyped up lemons they call hybrids, they may look clean and decent , but they arent sustainable.

Brakes need re-calibration. Done it before using a toyota software.

I think you should contact with expert and they have great experience in the field of automotive industries.

From what I know a hybrid like Toyota prius is capable of running on the gas engine alone if the electric system is not working Leaf and Tesla will be disabled.

If the hybrid system is not working the prius becomes a 1.5l Toyota car
