First, the LGA and state government need to have adequate nimber and well motivated building monitoring officers to regularly ensure electrical & other standards as well as initial fire fighting arrangements are provided and regularly maintained.

Secondly shop owners should learn to take insurance policies against such incidents.

All these should minimise the losses suffered.

December last ur, fire outbreak at GE-Africa complex housing SAP some other multi-nationals- fire trucks showed up with no water..
