Members of the extremist Boko Haram group are presently making efforts to take over Biu, the largest town in Southern Borno state, residents have said.

One resident, Kaka Ali, told PREMIUM TIMES the insurgents arrived early Wednesday through the southern part of the town, and moved to take over the army barracks there.
