Ever been faced with a situation where it seems your faith is not yielding desired result? The issue most times is our lack of understanding of what faith really is. The most visible definition of faith in the Bible is found in Heb 11:1 Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses] AMP.
Notice the first lines says: NOW FAITH IS THE ASSURANCE (THE CONFIRMATION, THE TITLE DEED) OF THE THINGS [WE] HOPE FOR. Here's an example; A land owner who has a case in court, has faith and believes he will have victory, he does not go to court carrying his land for proof of ownership, rather he brings the deed of the land. This is the concept of faith; it is the deed of ownership of our expectation at the moment. Lets take someone praying to get out of sickness, he activates his faith by presenting in his prayer the certificate/deed of ownership of his full health. The question is where do we find this certificate? Just like the psalmist said in Psalm 40:7; “Lo I come in the volume of the book it is written of me,” we understand that the Bible is the book that it is written of us, God's love for us, our inheritance, identity and ability in Christ. Our Certificate for overcoming challenges is found in the Bible; for instance the certificate the sick person may have used could have been from the second part of the book of 1 Peter 2:24 “....by whose stripes ye were healed.” He acknowledges his faith by presenting the certificate for his healing from the scripture above.
Faith works and when we present the right evidence of our victory in face of trials and challenges we activate our faith and lay hold on our victory over that challenge.
