Kold:
How does your comment above affect the lives of nigerians. We have a so called PhD and younger president who is clearly a disappointment. Buhari may not be the best we can offer, but he is obviously an ungrade on Jonathan.

For me, I believe one of our major issue is management of our resources. There is so much wastages and misplacement of priorities. We need a leader that is willing to make sacrifices, what are we doing with 11 presidential jets even when some nations that are richer than don't have more 2.

We cannot continue like this and expect things to change. Buhari has proven to be not materialistic which is essential to cut down wastages. We are able to do that, then assemble competent team of ministers, focus on the right priorities...
If you cannot see how those can impact the life of ordinary Nigerians in a negative way then you are just blinding yourself too the truth of the matter. It means he is going to be having memory problems to recollect and implement programs. Not only that he is not going to be agile and he might becoming shaky when handling things, like signing his signature, writing, reading but missing words in international gathering, etc.

His poor education means he is not well trained on civilized life and how to face modern world. He lacks the skills to communicate with the people on a reasonable way and a means to find a common grounds on problems.

Being a former dictator with military background is an evidence he is gong to take to draconian measures of using force on people to do things according to his own will rather than the laws based on the Nigerian constitution which is going to cause more troubles in the nation.

Having said that, you would finally understand they are going to have negative effects on the life of ordinary citizens as the battle rages on with those at the top positions. That could mean disagreement on issues thereby prolonging implementation of projects meant to address the plight of the people, etc.

Some of you keep looking for problems where none exists

If you have not noticed it........APC partitioned the Presidential campaign into zonal programs

Each party leader will handle his own zone for effective mobilization and maximum efficiency

Did you notice any SW APC afficionados like Tinubu,Akande,Oyinlola,Aregbesola,Fashola in SE or SS during Buhari's tour of the area? It was deliberately done to give maximum coverage for people who are sons of the soil to shine and handle their own thing hence the reason why Rochas Okorocha,Chris Ngige,Osita Izunaso etc were the recurring faces

The same thing at SW rallies of Ogun and Osun, did you noticed any SE APC juggernauts there?

Notice that during the NC leg of the campaign,Sen Bukola Saraki played prominent role which we didnt see from him in the SE and SS

Atiku is the Campaign arrowhead for NE which his state Adamawa falls in,you will see him take charge there

The same thing with Kwankwaso who is from NW which comprise Kano,Jigawa,Sokoto,Zamfara etc

He's not well trained on civilized life and how to face modern world, ok. Just a simple question, who's running a more sophisticated campaign? The campaign material, the graphics, the way they've been delivering their message, the use of social media has been way more modern and civilized than Jonathan. They took a lot of pages from Obama's book of campaigning. Only to read that they actually hired the firm that helped Obama with his campaign. His age doesn't matter as much as the people he surrounds himself with. I've said it before, I'll say it again the CEO of my company too is an "old" guy but you won't know by the way the company is run. Not saying he doesn't hold on to some old school values, which has it advantages but he's very open to new trends in the industry.

It added that Buhari also nearly fell while trying to climb the stage in Calabar during the ACP rally in Cross River.
Even if he fell down and is on wheel chair people will still vote for him, I believe God want to show us that he can take an imperfect man and make him king, in so far the present king has lost his favour. Whether you like it or not Obj(the ugly), Gmb(the good), IBB(the bad) are men of destiny and for the first time after 1983 they are on the same page. Obj destiny directs the direction Nigeria is heading, collecting instrument of surrender from Biafra, only head of state to hand over and become a civilian president himself, for these men to align in one directing means Nigeria is heading for change

[s]Brethren,
This is a desperate and urgent call from the throne of Grace that the brethren in Christ are about to make the greatest error of their lives by selling off their kingly heritage for a mess of pottage called "change". Change into what? Change into what happened to Egypt , Sudan, Lybia, Algeria and Turkey which were once flourishing Christian countries but because the brethren there also sold their souls on the premise of "it does not matter" they became the last set of Christians in those countries! Remember Turkey! It was the beautiful Christian country called Constantinople! Today it is history! The foundation of the planned islamisation of Nigeria was taken in 1989 in Abuja by OIC. Since then they have not looked back! Our Government gave them a contribution of 21 billion dollars then! Wonder then where the funding of boko Haram is coming from? They have painfully now infiltrated one of the biggest denominations in Nigeria and offered one of their best Pastors -a Professor,a Vice presidential Slot! Now a larger community of that denomination now promotes this "change"! They did it in Constantinople ! Remember brethren, that the biggest denomination of Christians in the North - the EYN has been wiped off! All their churches burnt. You may say that it is the North it can't get here! They said the same thing in Sudan, Libya, Algeria and Constantinople! How come the brethren have become so dulled in the Spirit that they no longer are sensitive?
We may be the last Christians in Nigeria if this grave error the brethren is about to commit is not averted! Our Lord Jesus is greatly miffed by our irresponsibility as His Followers! How come we no longer hear Him! The Great shepherd of the Sheep! How come that Christians have forgotten that this country was made ungovernable by these same people and Christians are holding the wrong person responsible? How come? The signs of the eventual Islamization of Nigeria are awash in the 1999 constitution where Islam, Sharia are mentioned more than 100 times.! Not a single mention of Christ or Christianity! You say it does not matter. Now, mark it you cannot amend the constitution without a bitter progrom!
Brethren, the night is here! We must contend for the faith and our heritage which was handed once and for all to us by our maker!
Don't relent, sound this trumpet by forwarding same to all your contacts! We will not be the last Christians in Nigeria! Amen.[/s]

Thanks for focusing on issues and not resorting to personal attack. I must commend you on that.

Having said that, your comments focus on three focal points - age, education and military background.

Let me take the issue of age first. Time will not permit me now to respond to the other issues...

There are many instances of leaders across the world that became president at about the same year. Ronald Reagen became president of USA at the age of 70 years and he served the country for 8 years. We have seen instances of young people as well they were handed over the affairs of the country but failed woefully for example our current president. Age is not the major issue for us, but a leader that will provide purpose leadership. Someone who will take responsibility and not be blaming past leaders. All the stories that Buhari will forget things are lies being peddled by politicians because they have nothing to say. The present president has been on the saddle for 6 years but still he cannot point out to concrete major reforms and projects that he has carried out. Has there been any difference to the refineries? Has the power situation improved - 2,000 megawatts today, 4,000 tomorrow which is the same story for 16 years. When other countries are using modern light rails, we are still celebrating old coaches and rail system.

In the 2011 election, we had no reason voting for PDP because the party had failed but people decided to vote for Jonathan (not PDP) because he was seen as not been part of the old order. But instead of consolidating on the goodwill through reforms, cutting wastages and performance, he focused on the blame game. Everybody from different parts of the country stood up for him during the Y'aradua saga. I remember Buhari and Atiku led a delegation to the Senate to demand that they should make him Acting President not to mention the SNG led by Tunde Bakare and other well meaning nigerians. He never build on the goodwill but his followers were busy abusing every other tribe and opposing leaders. A pan nigerian mandate was turned to pan Ijaw mandate. It's really so painful to me that he misued the opportunity.

I wish I have time to respond to the other issues you raised.

The fact still remain that the Northern political elites have maintained a very deafening silence and Buhari has so far been getting mostly the support of opposition Southern political elites. I am yet to hear or see any political heavy weight from the North that has publicly showed any form of support to him that is the fact. Buhari so far is getting common man support, religious bigots, jihadist support in the North. The problem with common man support which constitutes a sizeable chunk of his supporters is that it can swing either way with heavy enticements and efforts from the political elites. If he is not getting their support, they might as well spoil things for him in silence. A typical case scenario is the mammoth PDP crowd at the kano Gubernatorial campaign. Who would have believed PDP could still garner such a mammoth crowd in spite of all the APC propaganda.
