Mallam Nasir El-Rufai

Biography
Born on 16 February 1960, wasa former Director General of The Bureau of Public Enterprises, the head privatisation agency in Nigeria and also the former Minister of the Federal
Capital Territory, Abuja from 16 July 2003 to 29 May 2007. He is a member of All Progressives Congress (APC). His spell with the
government began under the transition government of General Abdulsalami Abubakar, where he served as an adviser in the Transition government. He was reportedly in self-exile during
the tenure of President Umaru Yar'Adua. In November 2009, Nasir EL-Rufai stated plans to come back home to Nigeria despite the high level of risk he will be under.

Education
He went to secondary school in the prestigious Barewa College, where he graduated at the top of the class, winning the coveted "Barewa Old Boys' Association Academic Achievement" Trophy in 1976. Incidentally, in Barewa College, the former President Umaru Yar'Adua was the House Captain of Mallam Smith House which was Nasir's dormitory as a junior. He went off to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, earning a Bachelor in Quantity Surveying degree with First Class Honors. He also attended post-graduate programs at Harvard
Business School and Georgetown University. Since leaving public service, Nasir has completed an LL.B degree from the University of London, graduating in August 2008 with Second Class Honors, Upper Division, and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University in June 2009. He also received the Kennedy School Certificate in Public
Policy and Management having spent 11 months as an Edward A. Mason Fellow in Public Policy and Management from July 2008 to June 2009

Mukhtar Ramalan Yero


Biography

Was born on 1st of May, 1968 in Zaria.

He started his education when he enrolled into LEA Primary School, Angwan Kaura in Zaria Local Government from 1974 to 1980. He gained admission into Government
Secondary School, Ikara and later Government Day Secondary School, Zaria thus completing his Secondary School in 1986 and obtained his West African School Certificate.

Between 1986 and 2003, Alhaji (Dr.) Mukhtar attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a Diploma in Banking, B.Sc in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). Between 2003 and 2004, his quest for professionalism in his chosen career took him to the College of Accountancy, Jos where he obtained a membership of Association of National Accountants of
Nigeria (ANAN).

Alhaji (Dr.) Mukhtar Ramalan Yero’s working career started when, as a Youth Copper, 1991 – 1992, he served as an Assistant Accountant with the Ogun State Bulk Purchasing Corporation in Ibara, Abeokuta.

Between 1992 – 1993, he returned to his alma mater, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he was employed as a Higher Executive Officer (Accounts). Between 1993 – 1997, he moved to Nigerian Universal Bank Limited, Kaduna as Supervisor (Accounts) in the Head Office Accounts Department and later Supervisor, Officer Grade III at the Sabon Tasha Branch.

In July 2007, he was appointed the Honourable Commissioner of Finance under the administration of His Excellency, Arc. Mohammed Namadi Sambo (now Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria).

In may 2010, when His Excellency, the then Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, late Sir. Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa was elevated to the position of executive Governor
of the State, Alhaji (Dr.) Mukhtar Ramalan Yero became the Deputy Governor.

He is presently the Governor of the state.

Both of them has impressive resumes. But I am particularly impressed with that of El Rufai. The man finished with a first class in Quantity Surveying and even at his old age went to study law and finished with a Second class upper. He still then went further to study Masters in Public Admin again. Thats cool.

It is a difficult/tough department, if not among the worst department in A.B.U in terms of grades and lecturers. QS is as dangerous as u.r.p , land surveying(now geomatics), in a.b.u. For el-rufai to come out with a firstclass means one should doff hat for him(thou the system was a bit better when they were in the system).
