Generak Buhari, A Step Forward Or Backward? by reganvida: 11:16am On Jan 22, 2015
This 2015 presidential election has centered between president Goodluck(PDP) and General Buhari(APC).
Taking Nigeria's future into consideration,am wondering does General Buhari signify a way forward or backward for Nigeria?
AGE :The truth be told, age is a big factor for anyone vying for the seat of the president. I see people comparing the age of Buhari and that of the presidents of Tunisia and Zimbabwe but those people never asked themselves, are we striving to be like those countries? Nigeria is fighting to develop and to do that,we don't need an old man who is that out of touch with the youth. The youth is the present and future of the country and Buhari doesn't represent that.A 72yr old man can sustain the rigours of governing Nigeria.
EXPERIENCE: One of the points that Buhari's followers give is that he is experienced in governance but one thing we keep forgetting in that such experience came from being a dictator.A military head of state.I ask again,is that the sort of experience we sort for in This country? I don't think so. General Buhari has never held a political post. All his experience came as a military man who rule by force.we dont need such experience to progress unless we are planning to expunge our constitution.
EDUCATION: Buhari sincerely speaking may have a WAEC result, but does that mean he is educated? We all know what being educated means in this 21th century. Being a graduate is a very big boost for leadership in this era. we should all look at states that performed excellently and point out any governor who isnt a graduate among them.Being a graduate gives an added confidence, strength and morale in governance. It gives a leader an ability to be objective.
DEMOCRATIC TENDENCY: President Goodluck is a past leader both as a deputy governor, governor, acting president and president likewise General Buhari who has been a past head of state and head of PTF.What we should ask ourselves is do they both have that democratic tendency to rule? Well,we all know the president is a democrat, who has never used to his power as the president to overrule the courts.if he was anti democratic,we should have heard the last of the likes of Amaechi,Tambawal,Sanusi like Obj did to Fayose,Kwankwanso,Atiku. Do we expect such acts from General Buhari? Well,I don't believe we should. This is a man which incited youths to violence because he lost a democratic election.
He has that military/force tendency which he will never fail to use if things doesn't go his way.

Vote Wisely. You may not have a right to vote out a democratic dictator in the next four years.
