EgusiSoup:No one wants to harm "your Son" GEJ. All we're saying is "Take your mumu son and give us an intelligent son for us to support". Stop making it seem as if GEJ is the best the Ijaws have to offer, he's making you guys look unintelligent for supporting him. 4 Likes |

FKO81:Gbam! You have said it all. They need Gas to power the turbines,They need money oil money to pay civil servants, share allocation to states, pay the military personnels and even procure equipments for the military, when the oil stops, Nigeria will crumble. Nobody in his right frame of mind should underestimate the Ijaws when they say they will cripple the economy. A word is enough for the wise, it is not about ranting on social Media, many people will be thrown out of work, The FG will have no choice than to downside Federal Civil Servants, the state will have no option than to down size State civil servants. We all know that apart from Lagos, there is no state that can survive effectively with their IGRs, so when people are planning to stampede GEJ out of office, remember there will be consequences. GEJ is light years ahead of Obj, but the Gang up against him is because he is from a minority tribe. There will be consequences. 9 Likes 1 Share |

barcanista:And where did I say people are against GEJ for his tribe? I'm sorry you've interpreted me upside down. I only told you the position of things and the likely outcome. Read me correctly. And as far as I'm concerned, the political understanding of the Ijaw is part of those degrading platitudes to opium and assuage our economic exploitation. Political diplomacy is not all about being understanding. It goes beyond that. 1 Like |

ba7man:Honestly i had initially underestimated their daft'ness. How would they prosecute the war? Who would they be fighting against? They'l blow up their own oil pipelines and cause more oil spillage, land degradation and water pollution in their region .... They'l kidnap expatrate oil workers and chase away foreign investors from their region. So who stands to lose? The same Asaro Dokubo that is beating the drums of war has his university and all his investments in benin republic and dubai 1 Like |

And a Dickson was there, but couldn't caution their untoward ranting. How can u be saying if somebody is not elected there would be war? U can't chose for us. If we say we don't want someone and we need a CHANGE, our opinion should be respected. That's why u hav the "one man, one vote" slogan. Somebody celebrated failures and u want us to tolerate him for another 4 yrs. How's that possible? And to think that dis people ranting are the only ones eating the money without remembering the youths they are instigating is ridiculous. We can't be threatened. Jonathan has milked Nigeria enuf and he must go. 1 Like |

Welrez: And what exactly is the injustice you are talking about: could you be referring to the voting out of Jonathan Presidency through a free and fair election? So the while of Nigerian must by force vote in Jonathan? How did Jonathan get there in the first place? Was it because Tompolo and Asari Dokunbo enforced him on Nigerians. No. Were the Ijaws in anyway responsible for Jonathan's electoral victory? At all. The Ijaws had no play in the rise of GEJ to the exulted position of President. How much is the population of the Ijaws? All the people that helped Jonathan on the way (majorly Obasanjo) how many of them were Ijaws? Those two tout militants believe they can talk anyhow because GEJ has turned them into overnight billionaires. They should go and sit down. There is no problem they can being on that Nigeria will not surmount. I wonder whether the DSS will act now in accordance to the warning it has issued that anyone or group that makes statements that can heat up the polity will not be spared, but will be dealt with severely. 1 Like |

sCun:Go and ask James Ibori, the former Governor of Delta state who is currenlty languishing in a british jail after looting his states treasury. Thats the kind of leaders you deserve in your neck of wood and i sincerly pray that you make good your threat by breking away from Nigeria |

Jakpon:the whole country stands to lose, they will refine their crude oil and sell, the technology is there no matter how crude, it will be improved upon. Governors of Gombe and Some other northern states where begging Yar Adua to do something drastic when these boys u called cowards where operating in the creeks, because of the dwindling allocation that was coming to their state then, so be careful what you wish for. Like I said, GEJ is light years ahead of Obj, in terms of performance, there was more corruption under OBJ than now, but u guys are shouting now bcus of the F.O.I, OBJ ran the petroleum ministry for 8 years, he was not stampeded. Because the south west is in control of the media, you place a "clueless" tag on GEJ just to hang him, you refused to see his achievements, you ran all sort of propaganda against his administration. Please, take note, there will be consequences that will bring Nigeria to her knees if GEJ is stampeded out of office. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Jakpon:You haven't answered my question, the fact that James Ibori was imprisoned doesn't mean that his colleagues from other states didn't steal. You said Niger Delta will be governed by mediocres if they break away, I am asking you who are the intellectuals that have governed your beloved Nigeria and how far did they take the country? F00lish set of people. They think they can fight Nigeria because of their oil? They should give themselves some brain. I hope they are not biting more than they can chew because I won't fight for them. Most people from that region have not benefited anything coming from an oil rich state. Only the militants and traditional elders have benefited and they expect everybody to follow them and fight 2 Likes |

This is a mere gathering of ex thugs apparently high on some of the good stuff. These ones can't speak for one local government not to talk of the entire Ijaw nation. What baffles me is why the President will allow a member of his government convene such a meeting. I am also a bit surprised that the governor and his deputy were also at the meeting. I have said it before that we have always been divided along religious and ethnic lines....but this President has amplified these divisions to gain political leverage. I do not understand how a man that wants to run for President of one Nigeria under a democratic system will allow his lackeys issue this kind of threat against national unity. This is the umpteenth time this threat has been issued with the DSS keeping mute. Ok....contunu.... 1 Like |
