Back Under Buhari's Regime, Nigeria Purchased New Airplanes for Nigeria Airways; Becoming First African Nation to Purchase Airbus A310. Here was how it was reported that time:

Nigeria Airways receives Airbus A310s

Nigeria Airways has taken delivery of all four of the Airbus A310-200s it ordered. The aircraft were officially handed over to Mr O.A. Oshikoya, Director of Legal Affairs and Company Secretary of Nigeria Airways, by Mr Roger Béteille, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Airbus Industrie, at a ceremony in Toulouse recently. Two aircraft were ferried to Lagos on 20 December last year and the two others in mid-January.

Nigeria Airways, which was the first African airline to order the A310, began operating the aircraft in December on the airline’s routes from Nigerian cities to major European destinations such as Paris, Rome, Frankfurt, and London. They will also be used on domestic and regional services – mostly along the West African coast route – where they will add capacity. Seating 18 passengers in first class and 207 in economy, the A310s will introduce new standards of wide-body passenger comfort and freight capacity on Nigeria Airways’ network. The aircraft are powered by Pratt and Whitney JT9D-7R4Es. Including the Nigerian aircraft, 45 A310s have now been delivered to 12 airlines.

How many has Nigeria bought in the last 25 years?

Lest I forgot, Jonathan has 11 presidential jets and still looking to buy one more this years costing $64 Million. In a country where 71% of Nigerians live below $1 per day.

Nigeria Airways became Airbus' 40th customer in 1981, when it placed an order for four Airbus A310-200s; these aircraft were incorporated into the fleet in late 1984 and early 1985.Also in 1981, four new Boeing 737-200s were ordered to replace leased aircraft of the same type in a deal worth US$65,000,000.

no I'm not!my intelligence makes me observe things from the root! you are even jibulating that a plane from the nineteen eightees is still on our runway and people take such expensive risk to fly it?

that doesn't mean there are new planes in Nigeria, all they do is change body parts.

my guy, that's not an achievement. what will it profit a man in the village that can't afford such for transportation?why close down the railway lines that was much safer and easier and cheaper?
