Rev. Peter Obadan, a former Deputy Governor of Edo State has reportedly moved against President Goodluck Jonathan.

The Nation reported that Obadan on Wednesday warned leaders of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria against endorsing President Jonathan for a second term.

Speaking at the PFN Biennial Conference which kicks off in Lagos today (Wednesday), he insisted it would be unacceptable for the clergymen to use the ceremony to endorse Jonathan when the body has one its own, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, who is the running mate to the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari.

Obadan, urged the Christian body not to use religion to blackmail Buhari, pointing out that the issues about Islamizing Nigeria and unearthing Buhari’s past because of his disciplinary measures were complete nonsense.

The former Deputy Governor reminded Pastor Ayo Oritsejiafor, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and the President of the PFN, Pastor Felix Omobhude, that the late Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa, who is regarded as father of PFN supported a Muslim/Muslim ticket when the late Chief M.K.O Abiola and Amb. Baba Gana Kingibe contested for President.

“I will advise the leadership of PFN to encourage all Christians to vote their conscience. And if PFN must endorse, we must endorse our own Buhari/Osinbajo. For Pentecostal minister to make a declaration for Jonathan is a vote for corruption, vote for inefficiency of which I am sure God will also hold them accountable for the sufferings of Nigerians. Capitalistic ministers who have been blessed with wealth including private jets, who are thinking that they may be called upon to account for the source of their wealth if Buhari wins, need not to be afraid because they will also have access to the Presidency because the vice presidential candidate of the APC is a minister of God which we have never had as a nation. All the blackmail and whatever against Buhari are ungodly because Buhari took over the reins of this nation when drug barons were almost taking over the entire nation and there was so much corruption in the civilian administration then. Majority of Nigerians applauded the military intervention then if not, Nigeria would have collapsed,” he said.

Meanwhile, it is no longer news that various religious leaders have taken sides with their preffered candidate ahead of the February 14 presidential election, while some of them are reportedly throwing stones at each other.

Recall that Pastor Tunde Bakare recently criticised CAN and PFN for endorsing President Jonathan for the 14 February presidential election at the expense of one of their own, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the running mate to the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.

Also, the General Overseer of the Living Faith World Outreach Ministries, also known as Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, was recently cautioned by the Jamaatul Nasril Islam, led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad III, to stop heating up the electorate ahead of the elections.

However, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to the President, Dr. Doyin Okupe has described Buhari as an incompetent and intellectually backward person.

When some people tell CAN/PFN to vote APC cos of Osinbajo it really amaze me. It amazes me because Osinbajo is not the one contesting for presidency. VP in Nigeria just as in the USA has nothing to do unless those things the president tells him to do. If anyone wants to vote for APC based on convinction that will be perfect but if is based on him being a penticostal then that will be the greatest mistake of this century because if GMB/PYO wins (GOD FORBID). You will no more see or hear about Osinbajo then the reality on ground will be clear to him. He is just being used as a means to the end. Remember OBJ & Atiku. If Osinbajo does anything than being loyal to GMB he will either be impeeched or sidelined.

I am still wondering where Amaechi will hide if and when APC loses this February 14th election. The man Amaechi is really having a serious problem. All the governors that decamped with him are not talking he is there making hell of noise. It is a pity.
