Consequently, painting the word "stealing" with "corruption" makes the offense seems light and fashionable. To average Nigerian, this two words conates different meanings. When people say "this man is corrupt" and "this man is a thief" the meaning differs. In lagos for instance, people would likely set ablaze or stone a thief at the mention of "Ole" than the case maybe with "corrupt man". Rather, people deassociates or try to be more careful with a "corrupt man". Therefore, Stealing is stealing and a thief is a thief and should be treated as a thief. Personally, I think his response was quite clearer and understandable this time around. This was different from rumours and propaganda people have been pastering around, even though that the identified thieves are yet to be treated as one. Lol! What's ur stance?
