The United States wants the Nigerian oil supply cut. They feel that the best way to get this done is be aiding an APC victory so that Niger Delta militants can resume attacks.

They're doing this by pressuring Nigeria through attacking the Naira to diminish it's value which they often do to countries that aren't in favor with them, using media devices to attack the credibility of this government, refusing to aid us (Ebola, Boko haram), refusing to buy oil from us, and other methods of direct pressure they often us to destabilize uncooperative governments.

why: Because if Nigeria cuts oil supply it will bring up the global price and help prevent the pending recession they are set to suffer. They want to reduce world supply and this is one of many methods. The other major method is the embargo on Russia to keep Russia supply out of the current market and extended embargoing of Iran for the same reason. Each time they have a different geopolitical 'excuse' based on a recent event, but the pattern is always the same.

The only thing they want from Nigeria is a reduction or end of production, even if it kills or starves us, so that they can keep their own economy buoyant. We're not the only economy under attack right now.

Open you are right, Cos this is how US government cause problem in Libya till today, I was in Libya when the war started and I just left Libya some years ago after they killed Gaddaffi, This is how the game start gradually in Libya, I pray Nigeria will not end up like Libya....Amen

Global increase in oil price doesn't benefit USA in any way. Rather, it's vice versa. Global oil price is inversely proportional to the value of dollar, so how would they benefit from that? Examine USA recession history and correlate it with that of oil price and you'll see the error in your postulation.

Personally I think the cause of USA's intrusion in our politics is because of the anti-gay law. As long as that law is still extant, US will keep on pecking our forehead with their long beak until that law is revoked. How they intend to achieve that through Buhari is a question for the gods? Except they're using their support to strong-arm GEJ into forming a pact with them.......

This is not a very smart stuff

Why will the US need Nigeria to cut oil prices when they can simply tell the Saudis to do it like they have always done in the past?

Russia oil is still in the market all over Europe and they are even getting new buyers so what embargo are you talking about?

Why should they supply arms to the military that are loosing their stockpile weekly to boko haram? A military that could not provide necessary equipment for a simple battalion to be trained by the same US you are accusing.

there is no credibility in your topic.

Gej administration is only facing hard press sanction because Gej is anti west.

Even though the america don't want africa to develop that should stop gej from performing it duty.

If gej perform who will be talking about the west or buhari? With what we have seen in the past years gej has failed.

This is a hilarious albeit pathetic attempt at spinning a conspiracy theory.

Ikengawo:

Nobody is "attacking the naira". The naira is only responding to the effects of the drastic drop in the price of oil, which is Nigeria's major source of forex earning. The naira was worse hit because our foreign reserve which could've helped cushion the adverse effect is depleted.

Ikengawo:
using media devices to attack the credibility of this government,
Attacking the credibility of the government? Mind showing us any Western media report on this current government that is cooked up?

Ikengawo:
refusing to aid us (Ebola, Boko haram), refusing to buy oil from us, and other methods of direct pressure they often us to destabilize uncooperative governments.
Is the US under obligation to help us?

Ikengawo:
why: Because if Nigeria cuts oil supply it will bring up the global price and help prevent the pending recession they are set to suffer.
Utter hogwash!!!!!

because the saudis refused this time. They also flat out said the price is not going back up for a long time. Now if you believe the Nigerian military is unarmed in Borno, you're on your own.
