Super Eagles defender, Elderson Echiejile has admitted he is engaged with to his long time girlfriend, Annabel Akpala, a 500level medical student of the University of Port Harcourt.

The AS Monaco defender who is poised to make his 11th Ligue 1 start against Montpellier this weekend told Complete Sports that he proposed to Annabel, the youngest sister of Karabukspor forward, Joseph Akpala, who is also a model, in Benin Republic eight months ago after he was dropped from the World Cup squad on account of injury.

“That happened after the World Cup and I’m happy with it,” he said.

The 27 year old also admitted he proposed to her with a 3-stone diamond ring and could tie the nuptial knot in the summer.

“I’m fully focused with Monaco but let’s see what happens this summer.”

Recall that Annabel was the winner of the Most Beautiful Girl Pagent in Port Harcourt, Rivers in November 2014.
