Once Upon a time, Igbos experienced the agonies of a civil war that devastated the entire South-East region of Nigeria. After the war ended in 1970, Igbos were still reeling under the trauma of that civil war, and poverty was experienced in almost every part of the region and that condition continued for months. Then, one day, Igbos took a decision to make their land – the South-East region – the entertainment capital of Nigeria so that they could rebuild the region, satisfy their needs and provide employment for themselves. Because of that decision, many Igbos at that time migrated to Lagos and Jos in search of opportunities and all kinds of alternatives. Many of those migrants of the 1970’s established their families in Lagos and Jos, and began to pursue their dreams of a better life. Many of them achieved success, and many who achieved not-so-great successes encouraged their children to reach for the stars and achieve the great heights their parents weren’t able to reach. And, because of such inspiration from Igbo parents to their children at that time, Nigeria’s entertainers of Igbo extraction including Genevieve Nnaji, P-square and Don Jazzy etc. who were kids in the late 70’s, the 80’s and the 90’s caught the vibes of success and aspiration and moved on to become world-class entertainers and millionaire celebrities.
