Long before ISIS militants beheaded Christians on a Libyan beach last week, Nigeria's Boko Haram was carrying out similar atrocities 1,500 miles to the south. Now that ISIS is operating in northern Africa, will the Syria-based organization join forces with the continent's largest Islamist terror group?

Maybe not, say U.S. intelligence officials, and they suggest one obstacle is racism.

"The Arab world is incredibly racist," explained a U.S. intelligence official. "They don't see black Africans as equivalent to them."

ISIS may show "affinity" with Boko Haram, said the official, "but they stop short of allegiance." Moreover, said the official, while Boko Haram has in the past year released videos to show "affiliation" with groups like ISIS, there's no evidence of either group sending members to fight with the other. And while Boko Haram has praised ISIS, and shown the ISIS flag in videos, ISIS has not reciprocated.

"There are still questions of the ISIS view of Boko Haram and Nigeria," said the official. "But Boko Haram does not operate in sync with ISIS. The caliphates are separate." There was concern last October when Boko Haram declared its caliphate that the two might team up, but there's no indication that's happening, said the official.

It's hard to hear, but majority of Arabs including those in North Africa see Black Africans as generally inferior to them.

When we walk ethnic paths about corruption in Africa, we forget it's all about the emancipation of a race and the development of our people.

Until we develop ourselves and our cities, racism will continue unabated.

Mehn, a collaboration between ISIS and Boko haram will be one hell of a coalition. Boko haram alone we are still grappling with despite using a multi national task force, now imagine having to face ISIS and Boko haram joined together. Na die be that

What cities? AFRICA has by far many more modern cities than the middle east. Apart from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, what else do they have? Africa is far more developed than is portrayed in the international media.

My post about racism was not limited to that of Arabs. Yet I would still say they've done much better with the resources available to them.

We could have built six Dubais in Nigeria alone with what we had but wasted the opportunity!

Yes, there are many 'modern cities' in sub-Saharan Africa, but many of them are in South Africa or Southern African countries that became independent much later than we did. We didn't build those, we only inherited them.

But all this is beside the point. Let us develop ourselves and see racism against us vanish. It's in our hands to do.

The Chinese also suffered from racism, they are respected now.

I've been shouting this thing since black muslims will not hear! I have a friend who went to libya; it was hell in their illegal immigrant detention camp! Starvation, beatings, females being raped and one who according to him hid money in her vagina was stabbed there once the arab wanted to go in and met obstruction! Still black muslims will kill their fellow black because of an arab religion! Mohammed formed islam basically to be a cohesive force for the then dwindling arab culture in the face of the rising influence of christianity and Judaism! I'm not against anyone being a muslim but turning to terrorism is absolutely absurd!
