In as much as I love seeing these boko boys killed in their hundreds, how are we sure these 'herdsmen' were not mistaken for terrorists and unfortunately shot dead by our soldiers?

How can we be sure that this is not a cover up of the murder of 73 real herdsmen?s

Why would terrorist choose to disguise themselves as herdsman and allow themselves to be slaughtered?

All the terrorists carry change of clothes with them to disguise into herdsmen and would then hide their huge guns and amuniton in their underwear. Thats after abandoning their vehicles and walking on foot, whilst herding cattle to a new town where they intend to launch an offensive?

Does that sound credible to anybody?

Is because in reality these real herdsmen stayed with their cattle and could not be internally displaced, therefore threatening the objectives of Chadian troops clearing and annexing the territory?

question everything you are told about this fake insurgency at this time.

The aspect of this story which claims that the terrorists sought to sneak in amid herds of cattle just does not ring true. Cattle, like humans, cannot be herded at all, if there is any shooting nearby. It therefore stands to reason that an attacking force of gunmen would NOT be able to advance for any length of time by walking alongside orderly marching heads of cattle, since the cows would DISPERSE in ALL directions the instant that first shot gets fired by EITHER side.

If this improbable story of "battle-cows" is being offered to the press as a means of explaining the presence of dead cattle at the scene of a fire-fight, then perhaps there was no battle in the real sense, but a case of mistaken identity, during which war-weary federal troops alerted to the sound of approaching cows, and simply opened fire, until there was nothing left alive to shoot at. Scenarios of this sort play out with regularity in ALL wars, and it is up to the public relations arm of the military to put the appropriate spin on the reports that are released for public consumption.

The first casualty of war, is the truth.

All is fair in war.
