I believe that after reading this, the issue of opening and verifying paypal account as a Nigerian will be solved. Before I go into details of how you can own a verified paypal account as a Nigerian, I would like to first give a break down of how a paypal account works, why Nigerians and some other African and non African countries are restricted from owning one and why every Nigerian, who needs to make or receive payment for goods and services online and also those into general internet businesses needs one (a verified paypal account).
Now to how a paypal account works. Paypal is a company that offers online international cash transfer from a consumer to a merchant, sales commission transfer from a merchant to an affiliate marketer(online sales agent), and all ather online international or local transactions, irrespective of the location of both parties.
You might be wondering; are there no other means of online payment apart from paypal?, the answer is YES, there are countless means of making payments online. But what stands PAYPAL apart is the fact that it is the most trusted and secure means of payment majority, if not all online merchants prefer using for their business transactions.
So how did paypal manage to gain the trust of so many merchants over other online payment options over the years?.
To keep their system %100 secure, they decided to exclude countries that have been known to be involved in one form of online fraudulent activities or the other from using their service, which Nigeria happen to be among the list.
It has come to the extent that, whatever transaction you want to do online that requires you to send money to somebody or someone sending money to you online for a particular goods or service, must be conviniently and securely done via paypal.
Now to the main purpose of this post. It is no more news that you can now open and verify a paypal account from Nigeria. But what you realy need to know now is how to go about it legally.
To open and verify a paypal account from nigeria, you need to register for an account with paypal as a citizen of one of the countries they allow to use their service e.g US. Now don't get me wrong here, I don't mean you have to become a citizen of America to open and verify just a paypal account!. What I actually meant is that, you will need to possess information that a legal US citizen has e.g US phone number and residential or postal address which paypal company would request before you can run an account with them, and I can assure you that they woun't take you more than 20 minutes to aquire legally free of charge online.
With the above tools (us phone number and poster address) along side a scanned copy of your National Identity Card, International Passport, Driver’s License or Voters card you could also own a legitimate US bank account which you can conviniently operate from Nigeria.
You must be wondering, what US bank would open an account for a Non-US citizen without any initial balance and with just an international passport or a government issued identity card as the only requirement. The average US bank requires you to provide, apart from an international passport, a Certificate of business registration and at least $500 as the initial opening balance. The truth is that since September 11, 2001, there have been so much restrictions on opening US accounts for non-residents that you hardly find any bank opening accounts for non-residents now.
The Method of opening a US bank account which would enable you to receive and make payments online is via Online Prepaid Debit card Providers. These companies work with Major US Banks to issue Prepaid Debit cards to citizens of every Country in the world. These Prepaid Debit cards could either be MasterCard or Visa Debit cards and they usually come with US Bank accounts (Routing number and Account number) attached with them. Any holder of these cards automatically has a Bank account with the Bank issuing the Card. A very wonderful feature of these cards is that they help solve the challenge been faced by most Online Entrepreneurs in Nigeria and beyond. However, some of these Online Prepaid Debit card Providers may require that you posses a US address and US phone no in order for you to receive the cards. Little documentation is involved in ordering for these cards. All you may need is a scanned copy of your National Identity Card, International Passport, Driver’s License or Voters card.
With these cards you can verify Your Paypal account, sign up on Clickbank and cash your Affiliate payments online. You can use them with any online transfer account and you can Load them via a variety of means.
For the complete information on how you can own a US phone number and poster address free of charge, and how you can use them to create and verify a paypal and US bank account from Nigeria, order for my step-by-step package that will take you by the hand till you are done. Just for a token.
NB: verified paypal accounts and prepaid debit cards are also available on request
