there is no allegation against obanikoro,as long as the matter hasn't been taken to court. If apc knows koro has committed a crime let the take him to court. And until that is done ,he has no case to answer and he has nothing to say to anyone,and at the end of the day he will scale through this senate process and be a minister.

I don't know where this practise originated from or if it is even practised in other countries. But what I do know is that this practice is wrong. Even if it was borrowed, we should be able to remove some parts that are not in the interest of this country. Someone who is to head a ministry should be able to answer some basic questions. And he/she should answer those questions. This is bad. Too bad Obanikoro might become the first victim of the removal of this obscene practice. But what the APC should understand is, if Obanikoro is questioned, then every Senator that comes for screening in the future (not minding political inclination) would also be screened. Even if he/she performed excellently well during their tenure or even headed the senate.

It is unethical and immoral to support what is wrong within a system or society. We have a country where individuals of I'll repute and unsavoury character are attaining positions of authority without the senate doing it's job as a referee.

Obanikoro may end up being confirmed by the Senate but surely not by taking a bow. He will surely be made to answer to the petitions against him.

I like this David Mark guy too much, a very matured Politician.
He, out of respect, allowed to air the opinions of the opposition senators, and also, carry out the screening of the first set of nominees.
OBANIKORO would be screened last after all have been passed. And he'll be asked by the Senate President to "take a bow and go, hits the gravel and that will mark the end of Ministerial Nominees Screening.
All those opposition senators can do afterwards would be to rant and bark as usual, the Majority will always have their way.
The Ministerial Screening passage requires just a simple majority voice votes from those in the majority, not two-thirds majority.
