Firefire:

Is that a rod? I presume you are myopic in your understanding of your own version of Yoruba root undecided

What those Obas are holding is not a rod but a ‘staff of authority’ signifying their authority and power. (This is different from the beaded staff used as messenger of authority which is always in the custody of the chief messenger)

In other words, any Yoruba kingdom that could trace its link with Oduduwa in Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba Civilization, would be given the staff of office (Opa Ase).

There are different ways of using the "Staff of Office" - "Opa Ase" & the "Irukere" (Cow tail switch)

You better don't monkey with electricity.

Goodluck to you.

In another interpretation: Opa Itile - eni ba da ile, aba ile lo.

Guy, staff of authority is different from walking stick o.

Chiefs also use walking sticks.

What those obas/baales pointed are walking sticks o. That's why some of them didn't have it. It's not all of them that use walking sticks

These baales basically confirmed what demdem has always been saying.
The fool is cursed.

We are going to march out GMB. There is no two ways about it. GEJ is the man. He's fit to be the president. Who the caps fit let him were it.
Vote GEJ
Vote PDP

Opa ase kan na ti wan fi n s'oju oba ni oku? Hahahaha. Erin ti fe pa mi. Eni ti inu oba ba ti dun si, irukere l'o fi n ka l'ehin. We all saw how Peter Odili was treated when he visited the Ooni of Ife in 2007 when he was contesting the PDP presidential primary election; not like Jonathan. Reuben Abati and Fani-Kayode, both Yoruba, should have explained this to Jonathan before this picture went viral.

If people call him clueless now, his supporters will claim he is not.
Yet he will still carry the same head to knee in front of pastor Adeboye for prayers!

Don't mind them, they live in the SW but knows nothing about the SW.
How can the Nigerian President be kneeling to BAALES, in the name of politics.
No SW governors, go this low.
