Obama has just concluded his speech at Selma, Alabama in commemoration of the peaceful struggle in 1965 that led to the enfranchisement of the African Americans, though they paid their price in blood. selma 2That struggle however led to having blacks in government and consequently a black American president in January 20 2009. The struggle was an historic one out of many and was a fight against racism and black discrimination which is such that once a branch was cut another grew.

Five years before the struggle at Selma,Nigeria,a black multi tribal nation and a creation of the West was granted independence.
