Re: Should Sex Education Be Taught As A Subject In Nigerian Schools? by Nobody: 12:32pm On Mar 28, 2015
it should be taught.students even in junior schools already practice various sexual acts and most naija parents feel it is weird to teach kids about sex...I am serving in rivers state and i teach maths a colleague of mine teaches a subject called family, life, and health education.FLHE.I think this covers sex education, she has taught them about sex,STI,STD,how to prevent pregnancy with condoms, following ovulation cycle e.g the billings method etc...and it is a government school.....sex education is already being taught in schools I think the problem is it has not yet gained wide acceptance ..

If they teach this in school, how will they do the practical class because biology have practical class, home economic have practical class, physical education have practical class, even english have debate, and maths have competition...so I advise u allow their parent do the education, after then let the wise be enough for the word...

NO.
The school isn't meant to take the responsibility of the parents. That's their responsibility.

What's the essence of sex education without condom? Religion always creeps in as abstainance will be advocated but sex education accepts the fact that conji na bastard! So it makes provision for that.

Well to each his own. Am at least 18 so op can I bleep you?

It won't be taught so early as to heighten a curiosity that originally wasn't there. I propose it be taught to senior secondary students(sss) cos let's not fool ourselves:they are exposed to things luike that at dat age.

Your parents taught you that? Mine didn't teach me nada. Naija parents are conservative.

Its easier to lay a girl abroad than in naija where shakara too much.

Yeap but dat doesnt mean we shuld give Schools dat responsibility. I think it'll result to more damage, teenagers will now confide more in their teachers about their sexual lifes which is not gud at all.

that is wat I mean......I know wat was on my mind when I was in school..plus the student would tease themselves about it and some student have an inferiority complex....I just think it should be left to parent

What are you talking about? Those young folks are already educating themselves. I shake my head for the youth.
I caught a girl S.s. 1 being smooched by a boy in form 6. I was going home when a girl probably in primary 5 was telling her friend that the boy in red shirt is x boyfriend.

Some idiots are sleeping with girls in form 6. Smh!
