Following the disappointing start in
Bauchi, Shooting Stars will bank on their
home support to emerge victorious in
their first home game when they come
against Heartland at the Adamasingba
Stadium, Ibadan.

The newly promoted side lost 2-0 to
fellow returnees Wikki Tourists last
Saturday no thanks to goals from Victor
Yakubu that ruined the ambition of the
Ibadan outfit on picking an away point.
Heartland’s new goalkeeper David
Obiazor though expects a tough game,
but still believes his side can upset the
Warriors to pick their first away points of
the season.

“They’ll want to take advantage of their
home supporters but we’ll deny them th
home win. I believe we’ve prepared
adequately for the clash and I’m
confident we won’t come back empty
handed.

“The worst result we can accept in the
encounter is a draw as we can’t afford to
start the league with defeat,” the ex-El-
Kanemi Warriors goalkeeper said.
3SC, who have played in various pre-
season competitions but lost out in the
finals 3-2 to Sharks in the Ijube-Ode Gol
Cup and 2-0 to Gabros FC in the NNL
Super Four, will be keen to make amen
before their home supporters.

After having their opening game against
title holders Kano Pillars postponed due
to the robbery attack en-route Owerri,
Heartland will be desperate for a result
just as fans of 3SC will seek a confidence
boost by securing a win in their first
home game.

As the fearless visitors look for an upset
in Ibadan, both sides will remember ho
the fixture two seasons ago formalized
the relegation of Shooting Stars as
Heartland ran away in a 2-0 win.

On head-to-head, 3SC have only lost onc
in their last three home meetings and
twice in the last seven with
Heartland's only defeat happening on M

process.

of Heartland.
