A warm welcome to you all to the live coverage of the oriental derby between rivals, Enugu Ranger and Heartland of Owerri from one of the oldest sport ground in Nigeria, Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in the heart of Enugu.


I 'm Crown Prince and I will be keeping you up to date actions developing from the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium and other NPFL matches. The host hasn't been impressive in the early stage of this league season while Heartland has been a force to reckon with.


Both teams are the ONLY two teams that has never got relegated since the inception of the league in 1972. All eyes will be on Rangers this season if and if they can escape relegation with their slow start of this Campaign.


Heartland has petition the LMC over the illegal acquisition of three of their players by Rangers.
The trio involved in this case are Osas Okagbue, Osas Okoro and the high scoring striker, Bobby Clement.


Ranger's defence has been the worst of all NPFL teams this season having conceded 11 goals, 9 of it coming from away matches including the heavy heavy 4:2 defeat in Bauchi by Wikki Tourist.


Heartland has the highest away win among NPFL team this season having won 2 matches on the road by defeating Shooting stars and Kwara United.


Inability of Rangers to gain maximum point could see Coach Kelechi Emeteole fired.

Rangers really need to win this match. Emetole should give way if he can't handle the pressure. Rangers is too big a club to be wallowing at the bottom three of the league table. Something drastic need to be done. They lost their last match 2-4 to wikki tourist with Agbim in goal.. ..outrageous...grrrrrrrrrr.

This was the ultimate fixture I used to look forward to back in the days, when Rangers had players like Ndubuisi Ndah, Ndubuisi Ajomiwe, Monday Osege, Emeka Ijeh, Davidson Owumi, etc

We never had it easy with iwuanyanwu national(now heartland), no matter where the game was played. It was the clash of the titans!!!

I remember some of their players in the early nineties; Mike Obi, Mike Onyemachara, Ben Iroha, Thompson Oliha, Edward Hansa. Excellent footballers

My elder brother once took me to the stadium in 1992(I was in primary 4) to watch this two teams play. I remember us enugu fans taunting one of their frail looking players with the number 9 jersey . He was so young and skinny that it made us laugh. However our taunts soon turned to anger and despair as soon as he started tearing our defence into shreads .

That was papilo himself. And I think he later joined the national under 17 after that.

This is one fixture I definitely won't want to miss!!!

what a coincidental experience, though mine was in far away maiduguri my 2nd day experience at d el kanemi staduim (1st day was el kanemi vs udoji) who would believe d lanky iwuanyanwu striker will later become a football legend today! I had elder brodas dat were die hard naija føøtball fans and i started very early to be inclined to niaja football fiesta, we had burrow holes through the stadium walls which we penetrate into as early as 12noon then hide somewhere to evade security personnel only to resurface once d gates were opened for ticket sales! Today even when d gates are thrown open we still ve empty stadia! **wait oooh, dis one wey everybody wan siddon 4 obiagu stand hope say space go still remain oøøh-
