Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by TheKingIsHere: 12:22am On Mar 19, 2019 |
Vic2Ree: Nope, kindly explain. Also let us know if kingpin who has almost the same feats/stats with captain America, and beaten caps and spiderman has superpowers for him to do so. |
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 12:25am On Mar 19, 2019 |
Vic2Ree:Lol. Thanks But just to clarify, i'm not saying that Cap has "superpowers". As far as i'm concerned, the definition of that term depends on who's defining it. So i'm not exactly sure and i'm not going to pretend as if i know |

TheKingIsHere:The link is in IAmSabrina's post that i quoted. Basically it's when a writer dumbs down a character or writes him above his/her usual capacity to suit the story. It works hand in hand with Plot Induced Stupidity. I think that should explain Kingpin's ability to match Captain America in that scan you showed. Don't you think it would have been a boring comic to read if Cap just knocked him out once? 1 Like |
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by TheKingIsHere: 12:37am On Mar 19, 2019 |
Vic2Ree: Una don start. This has nothing to do with writer dumbing down a character. On several occasions, kingpin has fought spiderman and captain America without shaking. In spiderman into the spider verse, kingpin killed a spiderman with his fists. Was that dumbing down a character too? How about the official marvel website where kingpin has almost the same stat/feats with captain America? Is that also dumbing down a character? Or does it men that kingpin has superpowers for him to have a very close stat with caps |

Kingpin fighting cap doesnt even mean he has powers, the guy is f*cking strong but he doesnt have the super speed, increased stamina, quick healing etc PIS and CIS are the only reasons we even see some comic book fights, Vic2Ree: |
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 6:51am On Mar 19, 2019 |
IAmSabrina:No writer can give a superhero not created by them super powers unless an accident occurred that gave them that powers and non of which cap has experienced. The highest they can do is tweak the origin story a bit and not entirely. Batman has been written to have powers e.g Batman red death, Batman God of knowledge. But they were on temporary basis or else world stories. The creator said Captain America has no super powers then he has no super powers but if you can show me a character that all of a sudden was written to have powers and they were permanent without any form of accident or event occuring then maybe Superhuman don't necessarily means super powers. As for the death battle Batman won your "super powered Captain America"

Vic2Ree:OK let's just ignore the writer. Check every list categorizing superheroes without superpowers, you will always see Captain America there among characters like Black Widow, Batman, Iron Man, Dick Grayson 3 Likes |

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by TheKingIsHere: 8:34am On Mar 19, 2019 |
Vic2Ree: If captain America has a stat and because of that you term him to have superpowers, why don't you say that kingpin who has similar stats have superpowers too? As for a likely battle between Batman and spiderman, yes you will consider their stat/feat as it plays a major advantage in their battle. |

iuwe:No hero has been written to be given powers. But they've been written to have their powers exaggerated or underrated. There's a huge difference. You didn't read what i said. Electro ring a bell? Explain to me right now how someone like Daredevil beats him... iuwe: iuwe:Again, Being given powers =/= having your abilities overrated by the writer. Smh iuwe:You think i don't know that? Lol iuwe:Exactly! Thank you! But can you guess why? It wasn't stats cause Batman is nowhere as strong as Captain America. By the way you people keep thinking i'm making arguments for Cap having powers (which i'm not), but really you should try and understand my post before responding. LMAO 1 Like |
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 12:58pm On Mar 19, 2019 |
IAmSabrina:A hero powers can be exaggerated because the plot required it to but the point you are not getting is that no matter how exaggerated it is it can't go beyond his original power sets. Captain America can't be said to lift things the hulk can do neither can the hulk powers be underated to the point he can't lift things Captain America would. Anytime Captain America abilities are overrated they have to explain why it happened because his basic skill sets has been put to question. I didn't say you are making a point of cap having super powers and if I sounded like that then I am sorry. Because brain triumph over brawl almost all the time and that is what bats never lacks. |
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 1:26pm On Mar 19, 2019 |
iuwe:Your statement is a little vague when you say "original power sets". I think the whole point of PIS, CIS and/or bad writing in general is to make a hero or villain look far better or more capable than he normally is. Batman is a street-leveller come rain, come shine.... However, please look up the stats of DC's Spectre Then see how Batman was able to hurt him with a kick iuwe:Apology accepted iuwe:Ding! Ding! Ding! Also don't forget more impressive feats and accomplishments... |
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 2:38pm On Mar 19, 2019 |
IAmSabrina:I do think Batman is a little above that. Dude knows all forms of Martial arts plus judo and boxing. I would preferably call him a stealth assassin tier fighter. When I said original power sets, "since he has been written as a human in peak conditions having greater endurance and enhanced strength and durability". That is to say when his skill sets are meant to be exaggerated, it still has to be believable (coughs) and can be explained by the laws of physics. Yes some heroes can be written to be better and more capable than their original feats but that is for CIS and PIS to explain. |
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 2:42pm On Mar 19, 2019 |
iuwe:Enough to hurt the Spectre? iuwe:I agree with the bolded but you and I know that this isn't always the case in comic books |
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 2:51pm On Mar 19, 2019 |
IAmSabrina:I didn't mean that in respect to his capability of hurting Spectre rather his Street fighter reference. But that is not to say it would be enough to hurt Spectre. Dude once got hit by an Omega beam and lived to tell the tale. Hurting Spectre would be PIS induced to my opinion though cause we know he doesn't have such strength to do so. IAmSabrina:That's comic world for you where you die and there is a Lazarus pit waiting to resurrect you. |
