About the issue of Africans not venturing outside of the continent and exploring... King Abubakari II of Mali ventured out to the Americas with hundreds of ships way before Christopher Colombus (the man credited with the "discovery" of America). There is a huge African presence all over North and South America way before any white man set foot there.

Africa also pioneered iron smelting. Would you believe it that Europeans never bathed or used soap until the Africans who travelled there (Moors) taught them how to make and use soap?

These are the things they wouldn't teach us in schools. The school "schools" us into thinking that we are inferior and that we never contributed anything to modern civilization. If we are mentally kept this way, we will act that way and we will never be able to achieve that greatness we once had.

Anyways, all I said above is history. The reality now is that we are at the bottom. All our efforts need to be geared towards becoming a great race once again. This should be the duty of every African! We did it before and we sure still can do it. History is useless if we don't learn from it and follow up with action and WORK. We need an Africa Rising!

A sound book by Walter Rodney though, but sir dont be fooled by everything you see on printed pages. Civilization definitely started from somewhere before spreading the world over. We were simply mining and ploughing our lands for the colonial masters.

The colonial era, unnecessary civil wars, coups and bad governance really pegged Africa's development back.

Your question isn't really a question, it is a presentation that presumes to assert a Eurocentric belief system which you've been fed since infancy like the majority of Africans on this platform.

Typical blame game, why didn't the Europeans Underdeveloped Asia.

Life began in Africa, as well as development. Therefore, once upon a time in human history Africa was the most advanced continent. When the Dutch first arrived Benin kingdom in Nigeria they were so scared about the rate of development they saw over here, so much that their exploration leader had to report back to Europe that ''this people have beautiful houses and their roads well paved like ours. I don't think we'll ever be able to take them to slavery'' (this's not the exact quote but something similar). And this scenario wasn't peculiar to Benin Kingdom. The Ashanti king in ancient Ghana kingdom was so rich that his official sit was made of REAL gold. Africa was extremely very prosperous before Europe made contact with us.

But everything changed once Europe made contact with us around 1400AD. We became conquered and were no longer in charge of our destiny. Instead of developing our lands, African natural and human resources were being used to develop Europe. Therefore, we lost steam and were thrown into total darkness as a people for over 400 years!. But, within this 400 years Europe entered the age of technology and industrial revolution, all made possible by exploitation of Africa. Trains were built, cars built, advance in physics, chemistry, biology, e.t.c happened within this period, but sadly Africa was never a part of this technological revolution. Just imagine where a people could not make a single development for 400 years!.

Still, when they were not done with slavery, they returned as colonialists. Again, they defeated us military and our lands were under occupation. They then went ahead to destroy culture, traditions, language, religion. Everything that made us African was changed because we were a conquered people. I wrote a song about this titled ''Hey West''. The Nile valley civilization was the oldest civilization in the history of the world, the Medu Neter was the earliest recorded language, spoken by the people of Kemit {Africa}. You use every opportunity you have to attack religion, even when it doesn't tally with the matter discussed. Is Israel not religious? Didn't they produce Einstein? Is Dubai not religious? Aren't they pulling strings?
