Patrick Ngowi, 28, started off selling Chinese mobile phones. He later on got a small loan from his mother, which enabled him to set-up Helvetic Solar Contractors Limited. The company supplies, installs and maintains solar systems in Tanzania.

Ludwick Marishane, 23, is a University of Cape
Town graduate. He was named by Google among the 12 most intelligent young brains in the world. Ludwick owns HeadBoy Industries, a business that designs new products and services. “Dry-bath”, a world’s first, is one of its products. Dry-bath is designed primarily for people living in poorer communities, with limited access to water.

Evans Wadongo, 27, is an Engineer who designed a solar-powered LED lantern. Evans’ business, Sustainable Development For All, is also into teaching poor Kenyans how to make their own solar lanterns. Double-edged sword.

Verone is a Congolese born entrepreneur, founder and CEO of VMK, a technology company that focuses on mobile technology. One of VMK’s products, Way-C, an Android Tablet, sells for about US$300 in France and Congo.

founder of Nairaland, an online forum (Africa’s largest). In Nigeria, Nairaland has more visits compared to Wikipedia. The discussion forum earns its revenue through ads.

entrepreneurs in Africa. Adii Pienaar is founder of WooThemes. The company gets million of dollars in revenue annually.

Serial entrepreneur, Farai Gundan, is a media
mogul. Based in the US, Farayi is a TV and Radio personality. She has featured on several platforms, both international and local. She has also appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Arthur, 26, is an Engineer who invented a device called the Cardiopad. It is a touch screen tablet that performs heart examinations. The results of the examinations are sent wirelessly to experts that can interpret them. What Arthur’s invention has done is spare patients that live in rural areas the trouble of having to travel to urban areas to get medical examinations.

Andrew is the founder of YELI, the first locally
registered paper-bag and envelope producing company in Uganda. YELI is the leading supplier of paper bags and envelope in Uganda. It supplies to hospitals, retail outlets, vendors and local manufacturers.
