Recently feel in love with Dogs, so I am getting a Dog (lhasa) this weekend. Currently i am doing some little preparations to receive him into my apartment. .. like buying dog bowl, shampoo, treats, fur brush e.t.c.....

But what I am not really prepared for is how i would handle the waste (poo)... You know these puppies pee and poo anyhow.. I wanna knwo how other people here on Nairaland have handled it... FYI.. I stay in an apartment where i cant afford to take the puppy outside regularly to poo.. . So how do you handle it? I checked online and some sites recommend getting Pee Pads (which no one sells here in Nigeria). ... Others recommend putting the dog in a crate / cage/...

So what do you guys think?

Its hard atfirst..but later the pup Will come around...people don't recommend my style ...most pple say study the time dey pee nd shiit..nd carry dem out at that time ....do this for a few months nd they will get used to peeing in the location u carry dem to...iv got a lhasa nd a cauc...dat my lhasa can shiit.nd when I say shiit..I mean shiit..me I introduce koboko b4 he stopped peeing in the house...dnt mind me, I like radical approach...my cauc is just wonderful I adopted him at 6weeks..I don't know how he knew..he just ddnt shhit or pee in the house..

So your Lhasa goes outside on its own, or assisted?? What if there is no one home to take him out In my case, i stay in an apartment (not on the ground floor), so its practicably impossible to be taking him outside every time. Here is what I am thinking of doing; I demarcate an area in my house (likely close to the toilet) where i would train him to do his thing. Though i would have to be cleaning up regularly... But i think that's my best option

Outside keee...don't even try it...u know they are very hairy..once they catch on tick..damn!!! they become a tick generating factory...I have three toilets in my aprtment.. I did the carying ere nd there for a while but he just won't listen...he pee on my seat too one time..dats when i decided to get a koboko...I stopped all the carrying ..when ever he shiits or poo..koboko..in palour , koboko , in the room koboko..so one day I just saw that he went to one of the guest toilet to poo..so I called him good boy(he understands dat language a lot ) nd I pat him on the head..since dn...its was like a switch..like he just discovered..dats the only place he shiits nd poo dat I dnt use the koboko..I still have to sweep the shiit into the hole in the toilet floor though..but its better than when he does it in the room or on the centre rug..
