PRECAUTIONS: BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER THE ELECTIONS by debeo: 12:06pm On Mar 25, 2015
Its a few days before the elections, from previous experience I would like to share some precautionary measures.

BEFORE THE ELECTION

1. Avoid all night waka waka

Stern looking law enforcement officers are everywhere doing stop and search especially at night. Nigeria is one of the few countries that any trigger happy police man can release a shot and claim that you were a criminal trying to escape. DONT EVER ARGUE WITH ANY ONE OF THEM NOW!
Only the living can speak for them self.
Avoid clubbing

2. Be Prepared!

Am not praying for any violence but offcos the people who died in the north in 2011 didnt pray for it either.
So

A. stock up your food stuff - lots of indomie and cereals , gas, fill all your water reservoirs

B. Fill up all tanks. Car and Generator. If possible, service your car!

3. Avoid volatile locations:
If you are staying in a location that the majority is a particular tribe or religion, if possible replicate to a neutral place b4 the elections

4. Stay together as a family
No need for someone to stay in shomolu and your son is in school at yaba it with a friend in Agege, as much as possible, stay together.

DURING THE ELECTION

1. Cast your vote

2. If you can wait and 'defend' your vote,, wait. If you can't, defending your vote through your television and mobile phone won't be a bad idea.

3. If you are waiting, once voices are raised, don't wait till bottles or bullets start flying, DONT WAIT TO RECORD THE EVENT ON YOUR MOBILE PHONE, 'talk' to your legs and direct it to your house. A dead hero is only honoured by the living.

AFTER THE ELECTIONS

1. Attend a nearby church. Avoid going far through out Sunday

2. Listen to news and follow events. For the ladies, a day w/out TELEMUNDO won't kill anybody.

Finally, PRAY

As a newly married man, I don't think I want any violence, the effects of Boko Haram in the north east is enough indication of what violence brings

Unlike last term, Law enforcements agents appear to be ready to provide security for the populace, but, YOU NEVER CAN TELL......
