Dont Postpone The Elections, NLC Warns by Clerverly: 8:52am On Feb 03, 2015
THE Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has said that postponing the general elections is not a solution to address the country’s insecurity situation.

It urged government to immediately put in place a conducive environment for the conduct of the elections.

In a statement by its General Secretary, Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, in Abuja, the umbrella body of Nigerian workers said it was not in support of those calling for the postponement of the elections.

He said they appreciate the security situation in the country, there was no guarantee that the security situation will improve in the next few months, adding that postponing the election has the potential of confirming the allegations of manipulation by government.

The statement entitled: “Do not postpone elections,” said: “Recently, the National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki, citing security concerns, urged the government to postpone the general elections.

“While we at the Congress appreciate the security situation in the country, especially in the Northeast, we stand to be counted on the side of those who argue for holding of elections on their prescribed dates.”

No need getting jittery for nothing.

Where is NLC when you needed them the most instead they are interested in releasing press statements.
What a toothless bulldog NLC has become?
Who takes them serious again?

For some of us still doubting the postponement plans by the Presidency, the sensitization and training of ad-hoc staffs for the elections slated for 04/03 to 06/03/2015 have been postponed till further notice. Some INEC officials I met told me the FG is "starving" the commission with needed funds to execute the election.

I learnt one of the campaign songs of GEJ and his team is electoral reform. I would be suprised if he doesn't stick to it till he leaves May 29th.
Imagine the NSA calling for postponement of elections based on PVCs not even on security reasons, his own constituency.

You see ur life?
Kaduna rail project was completed in December 2014 & it covers a distance of 180km, & was built at the cost of $500 (N80 billion @ rate of $1=N160, as at then).

The PH monorail by APC gov. Amaechi, covers a distance of 4km, stands abandoned and has cost the state about N180 billion.

The Lagos state light rail project, which covers a distance of 57km was awarded in 2006 by Fashola at a cost of $1.3Billion (N208 billion), & still up in the air despite several billions spent.

So, how do you respond Mr. APC?
