TROOPS INTERCEPT ESCAPING BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS FAMILIES

Today, in the early hours troops of 81 Battalion and 251 Task Force Battalion deployed at an Observation Post sighted a group of persons approaching its Check Point at Liwanti village along Damboa-Bulabulin road, Borno State. On arrival, they were received and treated humanely based on International Humanitarian Laws and Rules of Engagement.

On preliminary investigation, it was discovered that the 69 of them were indeed family members of Boko Haram terrorists escaping from Sambisa. Out of that number, 7 of them are men, 18 women, 7 grown up boys and 37 children.

At the initial state of interrogation, they claimed to have escaped from Boko Haram terrorists captivity at Ngwalimari village in Sambisa forest general area. But further interrogation revealed otherwise.

The troops recovered 15 bicycles, 5 Dane Guns and other personal effects from them. Further and thorough investigation is ongoing to ascertain other information from them.
You are kindly requested to disseminate this information to the public through your medium.

Nigeria, Chad, Cameroun, Niger Launch Operation to Flush Out Boko Haram

The firepower of Op Lafiya Dole (Crackdown)  has caused massive movement of Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) escaping from Sambisa Forest towards Northern Borno state border with Niger Republic and Lake Chad Islands, Colonel Muhammad Dole, Chief Military Public Information Officer  said in a statement

He said in a concerted effort to keep up with its mandate, the Headquarters, Multinational Joint Task Force (HQ MNJTF) launched OP Gama Aiki to clear all remnants of BHT in its general Area of Responsibility (AOR). This, the statement disclosed , is aimed at ensuring that the terrorists are prevented from establishing another sanctuary and hideouts in the Lake Chad region. Op Gama Aiki involved the MNJTF troops and National Air and ground forces from Nigeria, Chad, Cameroun and Niger Republics.

Dole said since the launch of the Op Gama Aiki, appreciable operational successes are being recorded in the frontlines. During some fierce encounters with the terrorists such as; Doran Nairi, Faide-Jimba,  Yebi-Tasugia, Yebi-Jemi, Alli Kanori, Yebi Tumanba and Alagarno villages up to Doron Naira along Sector 3 (Nigeria) axis have been cleared. Likewise, Littri, Madayi and some villages on the Lake Chad Island along Sector 2 axis hitherto infested by the insurgents were successfully cleared by Sector 2 (Chad).

During these encounters, MNJTF troops neutralized 31 terrorists, seized and destroyed large quantity of equipment and cache of arms and ammunition. Among the equipment captured are 1 x Hilux mounted with Shilka gun with 97 rounds of 21mm (AA), 14 x AK 47 rifles, 4 x RPG Bombs, 6 x Mortar Bombs, 2 x GPMG rifles, 1 x HK 24 MG, 1 x AKM MG and 8 x Bandoliers among others equipment destroyed in suit. While MNJTF lost 2 x soldiers and 12 others were wounded, who are currently receiving medical attention.

While addressing the troops of Sector 3 Baga at the Forward Edge of Battle Area (FEBA), the Commander, MNJTF, Major General Lamidi Adeosun charged the troops to remain focused and determined to flush out remnants of insurgents from the MNJTF AOR. The Commander wishes to use this medium to appeal to the civil populace within the operational areas to continue to cooperate with our gallant troops to enable the final defeat of the BHT. He equally urges the citizens living along the borders to be security conscious and watch out for fleeing BH elements during the operation and report all suspicious movements to the military and other security agents within the area.

DHQ end operation pulo-shield in Niger Delta

The Defence Headquarters has scrapped the Operation Pulo Shield in the Niger Delta region and replaced it with Operation Delta Safe.

A statement on Wednesday from defence spokesman, Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, said the decision is in line with initiative to restructure the Joint Task Force for better service delivery, efficiency and effectiveness.

He added that it is also in line with the vision and mission of the Chief of Defence Staff to contain the current security challenges in the Niger Delta especially protection of critical national assets and provision of security in the area.

Abubakar noted that under this arrangement, the Joint Operational Areas of the new outfit have been delineated into 3 sectors and 5 Operational Bases covering the entire Niger Delta, Ondo and Akwa Ibom States.

He noted that the Headquarters of Operation Delta Safe would be in Yenagoa.

Abubakar said this development, is to inject new tactics and robust operational initiative to tackle the emerging security challenges in the Niger Delta region such as piracy, bunkering, vandalism and other criminalities prevalent in the area.

TROOPS CLEAR BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS HIDEOUTS AT MATARI AND KAIDIRI

A joint patrol team of Sector 1 of 27 Task Force Brigade and Army Headquarters Strike Group today cleared Boko Haram terrorists enclaves in Buhari, Matari and Kaidiri villages located some kilometres to Damasak, Borno State earlier today.

Unfortunately, the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists at Kaidiri on sighting the patrol team chickened out and withdrew in disarray into Niger Republic with gun shot wounds. The troops pursued them and got 2 Boko Haram terrorists. In addition, they recovered 7 motorcycles and borehole equipment.

In a related development troops of 7 Division recovered and successfully detonated Improvised Explosive Device planted by suspected Boko Haram terrorists that came in Keke NAPEP in Gomari, Maiduguri metropolis this evening in conjunction with Nigeria Police Explosive Ordnance Device team.

This development has necessitated the call for more vigilance and security conscious on the part of everyone especially the residents of Maiduguri and its environs.

The fight against the menace of Boko Haram terrorists is a collective responsibility that require positive contribution from all citizenry. People should please be wary of suspicious persons or objects and report same to the nearest security agency or post.

Thank you for your kind cooperation.

it takes lot of in-depth analysis to come out with rankings especially with regard to warships.

parameters needed to be factored in

Propulsion:
Combined Diesel or Gas (CODAG) propulsion
Combined Diesel and Diesel (CODAD)
combined diesel-electric and gas turbine (CODLAG)
etc.

Sensors:
primary radar
fire control radar
secondary radar
hull mounted sonar
towed sonar
electro-optical fire control system
etc

Armament:
surface to surface missiles ( eg. anti-shipping missile land attack missile )
surface to air / ABM
CIWS/point defense systems
underwater warfare weapons
artillery

decoys and EW, ECCM systems:
hard kill systems
soft kill systems

aviation facilities

Command & Control Facilities
combat management system (CMS)
networking centric capability both internal and external
battle damage fighting capability / damage redundency

stealth features in ship shape ,
radar cross section RCS management ,
IR signature management ,
sound suppression,
EM spectrum management,
seamless integration of Multi-role capabilities
high real-time data processing and computing capability
secure satcom facilities

etc

posted it so that it might be helpful while making rankings grin

the moroccan (mohammed VI) FREMM don't have VLS for the SCALP Naval cruise missiles and without jammers and Narwhal gun systems.
the egytian ( tahya masr) FREMM don't have VLS for the SCALP Naval cruise missiles and jammers also .

the scalp (like the Tomahawk) is an offensif and strategic weapon , has a 1,000 km range for the naval version, that's why is forbidden to export according to international law specially for north african country near europe ( 300km limited for cruise missile export)

The Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) is an informal and voluntary partnership among 35 countries ( USA, UK , Russia , France ect ...) to prevent the proliferation of missile and unmanned aerial vehicle technology capable of carrying a 500 kg payload for at least 300 km.

they can have vertical lunch system but only the export version of cruise missiles are limited to max 300 km range (if an export verison exist) , the maroccan and egyptian FREMM dont get the SCALP in the contract

for exemple Algeria get only from russia the export version " 3M-54E1 Klub S" cruise missile for our kilo 636 submarines limited to 300 km range .

a naval ship can have VLS .
problem is if ur buying missiles , then u will have to be satisfied with ranges <=300 km.

example countries who are members of MCTR can share hardware and technologies for missiles >300 km . however non MCTR countries don't have access to the same .

eg brahmos has range of around 600 km but due to MCTR Russia had to cap the range to 300 km by removing some of the fuel cells , india could not add the fuel cells because then Russia would get into trouble . so it was mutually agreed by the two countries to restrict range to 300 km.

recently India became member of MCTR so now she will fuel up the empty cells of the old brahmos missile during midlife upgrade / re-life while the new missiles will come with the full range capability of around 600 km but some sources say ranges maybe 700-800 km due to higher energetic fuel and better optimized ramjet engine and also depending on flight profile Hi -Lo , Hi - Hi , Lo-Lo etc.

so best deal for any country is to develop long range missiles by themselves.

fun fact i would like to share with u, brahmos is the only supersonic cruise missile in the world to have REVERSE SLOPE targeting capability.

These is not fair at all. Even the Russians r among the 35 country. The best way out is to develop your own technology overtime instead of all these limitations.

Tnks @ chkil for the insight.

Just downloaded and watched the video it was self explanatory likewise the diagram, tnks a million.

Very deadly weapon, precision and minimal collateral damage .

And I just understood the ground lunched small diameter bomb ;"GLSDB" concept , conducting a reverse slope engagement at a low subsonic speed.

primarily Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) is boeing developed for use by aircraft's.

now SAAB is converting it into a ground launched munition (Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb GLSDB ) with cooperation from boeing .
it is joint venture i suppose

Egypt gets its first French Mistral-class helicopter carrier

Egypt has received the first of two French-made, Mistral-class helicopter carriers purchased last year in an effort to upgrade its navy.
The carrier sailed on Thursday into Egypt’s port city of Alexandria, where a ceremony was held. The vessel has been christened Gamal Abdel-Nasser after Egypt’s nationalist president during the 1950s and 1960s.
The second, identical vessel will arrive in September. Cairo is said to be planning to purchase Russian assault helicopters for the ships.

Egypt is trying to boost its military, including the navy, and play a more assertive role in the turbulent Middle East. It has purchased 24 French Rafale warplanes, beefing up its air force which has mostly relied on U.S.-made F-16 fighter-jets.
Egypt receives an annual $1.3 billion in U.S. aid, primarily used to purchase arms.
