Is it only an army offensive? cos it looks like the airforce is not in this fireball game. The airforce needs to come make this thing look like Iraqi freedom or desert storm.

This revolution that people keep mouthing with the ease of fashion level inspiration, what do they even mean by it? And where does overthrow of democratically elected government instigated by opposition party end and revolution begin if by revolution they mean taking down a democratically elected government?

I say 'instigated by opposition party', because it may as well amount to this, since history will judge it thus or significant amount of citizens will believe, whether or not in reality true.

Police really need to learn from the Armed forces on how to operate elite units. Take for example, panthers or sbs, if it were like that, who would be chanting end sars now.. We for dey famz them here sef.

This actually is what it should be except the SARS officers of the NPF particularly in the south have made it a point of duty to become terrors to the average young person.

They have left their mandate to go after yahoo boys and all who ply their trade online. Let us ask, is that their primary objective? When has fraudulent cyber crime become violent Armed robbery and Kidnapping?

When has going on unwarranted raids in inner streets become the call to action of these harbingers of pain and sorrow.

More annoying is the fact that they do not do this to quell crime but to profit from it. They do not go after fraudsters, yahoo boys and any young person looking fresh to bring them to justice for whatever crime, they do it to forcefully extort and line their pockets.

So tell me, why would we still want them on our streets? How different are they from the robbers for which they were setup?

#EndPoliceBrutality.

OPERATION SAHEL SANITY: TROOPS NEUTRALIZE BANDITS RECOVER ARMS AND AMMUNITION AS TROOPS STEP UP OPERATIONS IN THE NORTH-WEST REGION.

1. As the dry season gradually sets in the North-West zone, troops of Operation SAHEL SANITY have stepped up operation as they continue to push into the remote and hitherto in-accessible areas due to unfavorable terrain with devastating effect on the marauding criminals.

2. Consequently, between 4-9 October 2020, combined troops of Operation SAHEL SANITY, elements of 17 Brigade and Sector 9 Operation Hadarin Daji conducted a combined aggressive clearance operation to identified bandit’s enclaves at Dankar, Kandawa, Yau yau, Hayin Yau yau, Bugaje, Zandam, Kwari Mai Zurfi, Yar Gamji, Bukuru and Jibiyawa in Batsari and Jibiya LGAs of Katsina State leading to the neutralization of 3 bandits, while many others escaped with varying degrees of gunshot wounds. In the aftermath of the encounter, the gallant troops captured one AK 47 magazine loaded with 25 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition and one dane gun belonging to the fleeing bandits while one bandit’s motorcycle and 8 bandits hideouts were destroyed insitu so far while the operation is still ongoing.

3. Similarly, in a covert operation based on credible intelligence, 4 suspected bandits were arrested at Kankara and Tudu village of Kankara LGA of Katsina state including a suspected bandit leader named Mujitafa Shehu.

4. In another development, on 5 October 2020, troops deployed at Forward Operation Base Bena in Wasagu-Danko LGA of Kebbi state, in conjunction with troops of 223 Battalion deployed at Wasagu and Unashi rescued 2 kidnapped victims during a clearance operation to identified bandits hideout at Dan Umaru, Rancho and Dan Duniya villages. Many of the bandits managed to escape with various degrees of gunshot wounds. Rescued victims have since been reunited with their families amid jubilation by locals. Also, on the same day, following a tip-off, troops of Forward Operation Base Jengebe arrested a suspected drug peddler, one Mubarak Shehu at Jengebe Check Point in Wanki District of Gusau LGA. Suspect was caught with 20 packets of Pentazocine injection concealed in his motorcyle while on transit to deliver item at Kungurmi village of Bungudu LGA. Preliminary investigation revealed the drug baron is a member of the cartel that supplies hard drugs to bandits in the forest.

5. Relatedly, on 6 October 2020, troops deployed at Yar Santa in Kankara LGA of Katsina State rescued a female Kidnapped victim in Kankara LGA. Rescued victim has been reunited with her family. Furthermore, troops raided and destroyed bandits’ camps during a clearance operation at Garin Inu, Shekewa Forest, Jajaye, Kerewa, Solar, Mallamawa and Gobirawa in Katsina State. Items recovered during the operation include 2 Dane guns and assorted items.

6. In another development, on 9 October 2020, troops deployed at Forward Operation Base Magami while responding to a distress call rescued 23 kidnapped victims from fleeing bandits who abandoned the captives as the unrelenting troops were closing in on their hideout along Zauni-Jengebe road in Gusau LGA of Zamfara state. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victims were kidnapped while on transit to Magami Market from Gusau in a passenger bus. All the rescued victims were reunited with their families while efforts are intensified to track the criminal gang members.

7. To this end, the gallant troops of Operation SAHEL SANITY are commended for the remarkable successes achieved in the intensified operation and their commitment to duty. They are further urged not to rest on their oars until banditry and other sundry crimes are totally eliminated in the North-West. While the people of the North-West are once more assured of troops commitment to the safety of lives and property within the zone. They are equally encouraged to continue to avail the troops with credible information that will assist them in the operation.

Calling for more government reforms is not a Revolution. Revolution in this context (political) is the forcible overthrow of a government or social order, in favour of a new system.

its a common misconception to think that when people talk of revolution they mean the overthrow of a government, but according to the definition of a revolution, it means a forcible overthrow of a government or social order in favor of a new system. In the case of a democratic country like Nigeria, the only revolution that can occur currently is the forcible overthrow of a social order, referring to particular sub-systems of social structures and institutions. Of course, a social revolution can always be averted if leaders in government listen to the grievances of the people and act to ameliorate these real issues. But most importantly, bad behavior must always be seen to be immediately punished, if not, it breeds resentment and frustrations. all of these act as destabilizing factors to a democratic country. Now that Nigerians with their protest #endsarsnow have succeeded in the disbandment and dissolution of the SARS by the IGP. Government must always have its ears to the ground, that's what's called a listening government. Hear the rumblings of the people and think 2, 3 steps ahead about what they are capable of doing when bad behavior is not punished, especially by people who took oaths to serve, secure and protect lives and property; this tends to radicalize the citizens watching, and when they come out to the streets, government should not say they are "clout-chasers" as one police-person said recently, far from the truth. Nigeria's democracy is maturing at break-neck speed, the old-guards must notice this fact. Information is easily accessible and at the finger tips of most Nigerians now, they are not ignorant, they are not clueless, they see injustice for what it is. Government at all levels, SIT UP, Nigerians are watching, they are increasingly becoming fearless. be warned.

You have said it all bro. If the GMB Government had taken this SARS issue serious, it won't have degenerated to what it got to. SARS wahala really became worst under GMB.

With how powerful a Nigerian president is, if GMB is not a clueless person, no officer will get mind send SARS go illegal patrol.

I still feel punishment should be dealt out to every police personnel always collect money at checkpoints. If we can start from there eh, e go really help us. Once people start reporting policemen on a certain checkpoints, and if the police authorities find out is true, everyone of them should be sacked and charge to court for bribery and negligence of duty, it should be 40years in jail without any pardon.

We need strong and ruthless laws in this Nigeria, the indiscipline in this country is just so much. People no dey even fear to do crime again in this Nigeria grin

Or for the actual operations, having seen videos of PD-1 Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) in action, i really don't think the NAF would expend such resources on training rather than where they are needed most in the field...

The drone pilot would be sent out to China already I think...Just my 2cents though..

Nigeria may yet fall foul of Leahy Law if going by current happenings! Lack of trigger discipline amongst armed personnel, unchecked powers and mouth service by heads of some security services.
