I really don't expect you to drop a source but at least you tell us here that you have close friends or people at the top there, who knows about the whole deal.
Am not saying that certain Ransome was paid and at the same time I wouldn't come here and start quoting a certain figure. Has if you where there ?
Even if your dad was the COAS, you wouldn't come here and start saying such stuff online, let assume that certain money was paid, if your own child or close relative or loved ones was among those kids, would just fold your hands and look and watch the situation deteriorate like the Chibok girls. ?

Why are you all giving yourselves HBP? The boys were kidnapped and have now been freed whatever way it happened. Be happy if you were really concerned about them and not merely aggrieved they are free for other reasons.

The Kankara kidnapping, from the abduction itself, to the negotiation, and the eventual release of the boys, all smells like rotten fish. I am not moved by that charade. What struck me, although I am not so surprised, is the claim by the Governors of Katsina and Zamfara state that they negotiated the release of the boys with the help of Miyetti Allah. This is the same Miyetti Allah that has been listed as the fourth deadliest terrorist group in the world by the Global Terrorism Index.

The North will implode; it's a given, but the unfortunate thing is that the inferno will spread down South. Some argue that It has started sipping down south already with our Farmstead and Highways now becoming Fulani kidnappers delight

Security is everyone's responsibility and duty. Citizens have a very important role to play in the security of lives and properties in their immediate environment. Virtually all of us have failed in this aspect yet we expect the police and the military to perform miracle. First expose the criminals and potential criminals in your families and communities and encourage others to do so too and see if you won't enjoy the peace that you so much crave.

You are trying to justify the unjustifiable.

For how long has the military had knowledge of the locations of bandits, Jihadists, criminal kidnapping gangs.

But in some cases corruption created inaction and complicity.

With regards to Boko Haram and other Jihadists terrorists organisations in the North. It's inexplicable, Boko will attack with rickety gun trucks and we will abandon our MBT and run.

Please there is no excuse for this level of crass ineptitude.

Or shall we talk about 300+ boys kidnapped and walked through the bush on foot with our security response essentially non existent. Within 5 minutes of the attack the NA were informed.

Bro..I hope you know this ipob is already a movement and their members running in millions..Nigeria govt then should be ready to kill many cos the ideology has already taken root and very difficult to crush at this stage..!!

The Nigerian govt still think the old way with not change.. and that is the use of force..what if the govt goes in and are soundly disgraced..what next?

There is an assumption that he who makes the loudest noise wins the argument.

Look at the leader of IPOB and his narcissistic tendencies. Then look at the majority of his misguided and I'll informed illiterate members.

If IPOB should become a political party then campaign and hopefully win every state government, national and state legislature election. And through very peaceful means actualize thier dream, it will.be very easy.

I can assure you IPOB will struggle to win a single seat outside of Umuhai.

For any one interested, the information from 'Uncle Deji', who is very reliable on security matters, is that the tape of the boys was sent to BH by the bandits during the negotiation to hand them over to them, but were frustrated by the NA and other security services that surrounded their location making the handover virtually impossible.

Make of that as you may.

Your last paragraph undecided

The Bandits attacked the School few moments later troops on patrol were alerted and responded I'm sure you know what's called collateral damage.
This was what the troops avoided cos the terrorists used the kids as human shields hence troops withdrew.

In order to avoid Chibok incident whereby they'll claim they are still searching for the boys NAF deployed attack helos that same night to search for the boys: check on channels one of the boys who escaped claimed that night when they where in the bush military helicopters hovered passed them.

Now the next morning in order for the terrorists not to move the boys to Niger cos that was everyone's fear troops in collaboration with ISR and local vigilante located the boys and blocked every exit and entry point of the VIO while Helos and ISR kept overhead watch...till day 6

All this and you claimed their response was non existent broo God bless you...

You used the diction RESCUED, all reports and even statements from the NA spokesman Enenche make it intrinsically clear that they were RELEASED.

There is huge disparity between the two words RESCUE and RELEASED.

If that's you definition of stooping low to degenerative thinking as you imply.

This picture is not recent but it tells us a lot about the rough play that is going on in the North. It's like smoking cigarettes in a petrol station, like sticking ones hand in a snakes hole.
Many people are ignorant, or would I say deliberately wants to ignore the imminent danger that this budding terrorism in the North West portends . So called security expert and analyst are also not sounding the alarm loud enough. What we have now is still dress rehearsal, by the time the bubble will finally burst, Boko Haram's insurgency will be like child's play

Whopping $4 Million dollars bro is what is flying...!! I love Nigeria..very easy to get rich quick if you can hustle bad..!!

This doesn't hit bro. Let's go back in time and also think like the abductors. When the dapchi case occurred, we learnt that $3m was paid(although not totally confirmed but some reliable sources confirmed this) $3m paid to Iswap which is one of the strongest terror group in Africa, when they paid $3m, the security agents didn't know the whereabouts of the students then which means they had a strong bargaining power.

But in this case, the abduction was carried out by "bandits" not even as strong as JAS or any main terror group in Africa, in this case the military knew their whereabouts and had eyes on them throughout which effectively means they had low or weak bargaining power, so the question is as an abductor fully knowing that the military have sight on you and the only thing protecting you is the fear of collateral damage, would you even think of asking for the same amount Iswap(which is way stronger than you) asked for not to talk of an higher amount?

Make no mistake, I have no idea whether ransom was paid or not but this amount you stated doesn't hit.

A few questions and for you to consider.

1. How long did the operation take by the bandits, to round up these 300 children and take them captive.❓

2. Within 5 minutes communication of the attack was made to security forces. How long did they take to respond and what was the nature of their response ❓

3. How where the 300 children transported from the school through very inhospitable terrain❓ Did they walk, were they taken in trucks or on motorcycles. Imagine how long a convoy of sorts with 300 + children will be.

Then ask yourself if a reactive delayed response is representative of a well trained and equipped army.

The response was not PROACTIVE.

Your response is a reflection of your expectations, unfortunately they are very LOW.

In comparison to you l am guilty of expecting a LOT MORE.

1. I can't answer that
2.You can't tell it depends on what the troops on patrol where alerted when they arrived the scene it resulted to gun battle but we're dealing with kids here those terrorists tried to used them as shield in order for the boys not to get killed in crossfire troops had to withdraw.
3.According to the boys they where made to walk.

Now if the troops hadn't responded quickly by now those boys where about would be unknown possibly In Niger but where..

Now you think this is Hollywood where something just happen then boom army comes and saves the day.
Bro they're some things to be considered

We are back to perspective and expectations.

Using a huge searchlight in the middle if the night to look for people. That is so 1970's technology.

You automatically become a target for gun trucks and even Rpg7's, because you are using the naked eye and flying low to find your targets. It really is an exercise in futility.

Things have moved on in today's modern world basic technology means FLIR thermal imaging cameras. That's on a duplicity of platforms UAV's large and hand launched, multiple aircraft including helicopters. As well as on armoured vehicles. Means targets can be seen from 1-5 km and further depending on the platform used.

With the right communications infrastructure and interfacing they should have been isolated within 30 minutes. With land forces making an effective cordon around the area of interest. They will be abandoning the children and running for thier own safety.

This technology is almost standard across most countries with serious investment in law enforcement. It's become so cheap that civilian doing bit of hunting have FLIR.
