I think these streit APCs are part of the 177 ordered in 2017 or so.
This is what went through my mind when I first saw.
I know that the NA didn’t “collect”all the Streits at the time of purchase.
More important to note
Proforce needs to produce even more.
It appears they are fulfilling one project of 30xAPC
There should be an 8x8 prototype for an IFV by now.

You're looking at Saymar Musketeer imported from Israel.

Retarrded decision but that's where we are.
I am not sure where you got your decisions on this being a crappy APC:
I went and did a cursory check and in a short check discovered it is being used by the
Cameroonian Presidential Guard.
Some of the features disclosed that it has a Stag level of one and can be raised to Three.
Really can’t understand the Rant either.
Outside of the Failed UAV deal that was actually cancelled by the GEJ before they could bilk Nigeria .
The Only other G2 -G2 procurement deal was for the Shaldags in which by the best accounts convinced the Militants this was Ship not to be trifled with.
Since then until the Blue project there has been no procurement.
The NAF SF trained by an Israeli PMC have been highly disciplined and commended for their performance in Battle in the N’ West.
Not picking a fight just respectfully curious .
Please enlighten/educate.

It's a low quality APC, with overheating issues.

It's bullet resistance rating is poor. For reference watch Proforce video on issues faced with APCs imported from the middle east.

The APC was dumped by a state government in the South-East region.

Proforce PF2 would have been better.

In Babban Rami, Mashegu Local Government District, Niger State, seven farmers were killed and many others wounded by armed bandits.

It was reported that when some armed bandits carrying sophisticated weapons attacked and opened fire on them indiscriminately, killing about seven and injuring several others, the farmers transported their farm produce home.
The incident occurred on Thursday, December 31, in the early hours. Survivors were rushed to a local hospital where medical treatment is still being offered.

If this happened in Benin Republic or far away Europe, PMB will send his condolence message to them.

I've really gone through the vehicle's architecture including from the previous pics, but I can't see the resemblance with the Saymar. This looks to be a Streit, specifically, some sort of variant of the Spartan mk III, from the front, the sides and the back.

The vehicle Vs a Saymar's typical design.

You got it mixed up bro. I'm not referring to that vehicle. I was referring to the NIMASA APC.

The army vehicle is a streit. It looks like a Streit Spartan built in Jordan.

Exclusive: Inside the secret world of US commandos in Africa

Investigation reveals the scale of operations of America’s elite combat troops in Africa

United States Special Operations forces (SOF) — including Navy SEALs, Army Green Berets and Marine Corps Raiders — are the US military’s most highly trained soldiers, specialising in counterterrorism, counter-insurgency, and “direct action” combat raids, among other missions. Their operations are shrouded in secrecy.

Although US commandos operate on the African continent with the agreement of host governments, ordinary Africans are rarely told about the full extent of US activities — nor offered a say in how and why Americans operate in their countries. Even basic information, like the sweep and scope of deployments by elite US troops and clandestine combat by American commandos on the continent, is mostly unreported across Africa.

But a Mail & Guardian investigation can, for the first time, reveal where US special operators have been active on the African continent — and offer exclusive details about low-profile missions that have been largely kept under wraps.

In 2019, US Special Operations forces were deployed in 22 African countries: Algeria, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Côte D’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Libya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, Tanzania and Tunisia.

This accounts for a significant proportion of US Special Operations forces’ global activity: more than 14% of US commandos deployed overseas in 2019 were sent to Africa, the largest percentage of any region in the world except for the greater Middle East.

These figures come from information provided to the M&G by the US military’s Special Operations Command and Africa Command (AFRICOM).

Why take such a risk? They have abducted over 7 humanitarians in November & December on that road. Make I no even talk of locals, Unimaid students and businessmen abducted on that road.

Since I came to Borno in 2016 I never try am follow Damaturu road. I will rather spend six months in Borno and gather enough funds to Do bird things na. Talk more of a Direct UN Staff that took such a risk.

am even surprised that commuters still ply that Road, they have been fierce fightings in Jakana, the highway is supposed to be a no go area for any one avoiding insurgents.

Professor Khalifa Dikwa: no where is safe outside of Maiduguri
By Abankula

Prof. Khalifa Dikwa, Dean, Borno Elders Forum said contrary to the narrative by the military and the Federal Government, no where is safe outside of Maiduguri, capital of Borno State.

He said so bad is the security situation that not even 5km outside of Maiduguri is safe.

“Even if they (Boko Haram) are not physically there, they are psychologically there, disturbing the people,” Dikwa told Channels Television’s Newsnight on Monday.

“From time to time, they ride their motorcycles, come and harass them to pay levies and so on. Outside Maiduguri, no even five kilometres, nobody is safe. And they can strike at any time.”

Dikwa told Channels TV that the military did not heed the advice of the Private Military Contractor (PMC), to man the country’s land borders after they had “decimated” Boko Haram in 2014.

Dikwa was referring to the South Africans who were hired by Jonathan in 2014. By early 2015, they had flushed Boko Haram out of Nigeria’s territory, allowing for the holding of the elections in all the local councils.

The military turned round to claim the credit. Few years after, one of the South Africans expressed anger that the military frittered away the gains they recorded between 2014 and 2015.

When President Buhari ascended the throne in May 2015, he dispensed with the services of the contractors, by putting all his trust in the army, believing that they would safeguard the territorial integrity of Nigeria.

Dikwa recalled: “At that time, they (PMC) said, ‘okay, we have done our bit, the rest, it has to be political. Have dialogue at a position of strength,” the university don, added.

“And that you should allow the other paramilitary, particularly the police, to take over the terrain that you have recaptured. You (military) move to the borders.”

“Unfortunately, the military has continued to usurp the role of the police which is not supposed to be so,” Dikwa said.

Prof Dikwa who called for more collaboration among security agencies in the fight against insurgency noted that the military alone cannot fight the terrorism in Borno State.

“If you put all the military inside Borno, it will contain it,” he said, claiming that “It looks like there is no synergy between the security and defence agencies as if it is rivalry when they are actually working for this country and they signed to defend the people of this country and the territory.

“As a President, he should be able to stamp his feet to say ‘do the work, I am giving you one, two months maximum. If you don’t finish up this thing, submit your resignation letter.”

Dikwa also advised Buhari to decentralise the command structure in the army.

“If I were to have the ears of President Muhammadu Buhari and Commander-in-Chief, I will insist that the command system of the military be decentralised so that junior commanders could also give a command in case of threats”

“Even the police have their own way of neutralising the enemy rather than waiting. As long as the command is from top-down, it will not work”, he said.

Nigeria has been waging a war against the Boko Haram insurgents since 2009.

Claims that the insurgents have been ‘technically defeated”, have been proven to be hollow, as the terrorists still kill people and stage kidnappings, at will.

Over 35,000 people have been killed in the war.

Recently, chief of army staff, Lt. General Buratai said the war could last another 20 years.

He however promised in the New Year that the military will disgrace Boko Haram and ISWAP this year
.

This Govt. Is so clueless in the fight against Boko haram, I wish 2023 can be tomorrow grin

For we to still be at this level after years of fighting this war... There is absolutely no end or tail for this war at all. Nah like this we go do am reach 2023 as I dey look am.

On January 1 2022, Buratai will tell us he will make boko haram cry after he is through shaming and disgracing them in 2021 grin

March was a major attack.

BH/ISWAP conducts two kind of attack. A Major attack and Codeine attack.

Major is when they come in full force to take over.

Codeine attack is when a small group of maybe 8-15 will come in one or two gun truck to attack an Army entrance point. Codeine attack is regular in N Borno and sometimes not even counted as an attack in Northern Borno.
