Xbee007: Hmmmm one of the biggest threats in the society. The Almajiri system in 21st century. Here in Camps we will be supplying food to men with kids and before you know it he has married another wife right inside his temporary shelter camp. One NGO tried an advocacy on child spacing and the community almost burnt down the health facility. The Educated Northerners are shying away on carrying out advocacy to curtail this threat. Well I think they are okay with it. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

SamuelAnyawu:No they are not okay with it... Just like u said, if u talk, Dem fit kill you... El rufai passed a similar law on almajiri prohibition, man couldn't enforce it.... It an issue even the elites are not willing to bring up because it would end thier political career... Something really needs to be done.. because this guys deliberately misinterpreted the Quran that says yes we should multiply, but decided to leave out the part where Quran says take care of your children... A Muslim professor earning 470,000 before tax has four kids, but a driver or his messenger earning 50 k has three wives and 16 kids...that something u see in the North very often. 11 Likes 4 Shares |

At this point, Nigeria needs to be very careful with the surrendered BH. Putting them back in the society is a very serious catastrophy waiting to happen. This is why. Taliban fighters habour Al qaeda which has an Ideology of Global Evangelism, that puts them at logger heads with IS/Daesh. Why do you think they don't go together? The Taliban rule will likely spark life back into al-qaeda. If you have followed the history of Boko Haram you'd discover that tactics changed when they started affiliations with IS. It wasn't a military push back that caused them to switch from attacks to gaining territory. It was IS themselves. They changed BH Ideology. Now, you see a link between the global attack strategy of Al qaeda and the initial BH methods. Currently, BH have separated from ISWAP due to ideological differences. Analysts have predicted that Taliban is set to begin covert support to Al qaeda. Which means BH will soon become allied to them and you likely see suicide bombing resume. If care is not taken. Some of you blaming the US for being in Afghanistan may not understand the role the US has played in curtailing global terrorism. Even when questionable actions are undertaken at times, it is still utilitarian. 11 Likes |

Nigerian Army Pardons New Batch Of Over 200 Boko Haram Fighters, Families The army high command noted that a total of 186 Boko Haram terrorists surrendered on Saturday led by their Amir, Manye Aga, to troops of Operation Hadin Kai at the Forward Operational Base (FOB) in Ajiri. BY SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORKAUG 16, 2021 The Nigerian Army has stated that it received a fresh batch of over 200 repentant Boko Haram fighters and their family members in clearance operations in Saturday and Sunday in Borno State. The army high command noted that a total of 186 Boko Haram terrorists surrendered on Saturday led by their Amir, Manye Aga, to troops of Operation Hadin Kai at the Forward Operational Base (FOB) in Ajiri. Meanwhile, on Sunday, the military received 33 additional Boko Haram fighters from Landanli, Azah, Ngaridua and Kondilla villages, who surrendered to own troops of 151 Task Force Battalion, Banki Junction in Bama. The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Onyema Nwachukwu, stated these in a release on Monday, obtained by SaharaReporters, despite the outcries and widespread condemnation that had greeted the exercise. Many Nigerians have called for the due prosecution of the former fighters instead of a blanket pardon and rehabilitation with tax payers’ money. The army spokesman in a release said, “Following the recent unprecedented and massive surrendering of Boko Haram Terrorists in Bama Operational area between August 2 and 4, there has been confusion and severe apprehension in the camps of the Islamic State of West Africa Province especially amongst its top ranking commanders over the depleting strength of its members, which has drastically dwindled their overall fighting efficiency. “It is against this back drop that the terrorists group opted for the use of propaganda via AMAQ Terrorists Media Wing with the aim to portray the group as if it is still a potent force in the North East. “The current trend of apprehension in their camps was further aggravated by the recent alarming turn out of members of the terrorists group, who came out in droves with their families to lay down their arms and surrender to own troops at Mafa Local Government Area on 14 August, 2021. “A total of 186 Boko Haram Terrorists members led by their Amir, Manye Aga, comprising 67 adult males, 54 adult females and 65 children surrendered to troops of Operation HADIN KAI at Forward Operational Base (FOB) Ajiri. Items recovered from the surrendered terrorists include, several AK 47 rifles and magazines, a locally made pistol and 8 locally fabricated daggers. “Similarly, on 15 August, 2021, the Theatre took custody of additional Boko Haram fighters, comprising of 4 adult males, 11 adult females and 18 children from Landanli, Azah, Ngaridua and Kondilla villages, who surrendered to own troops of 151 Task Force Battalion, Banki Junction in Bama. “ISWAP is yet to come to terms with the reality of its current predicament, which has posed serious negative impact on its prowess. “It is also worthy of note that the terrorists are overwhelmed with palpable fear and are making desperate efforts to halt the ongoing surrendering of their fighters from the Tumbus and Sambisa axis. “The Nigerian Military is more resolute in intensifying both kinetic and non-kinetic efforts in the fight against insurgency, banditry and sundry crimes in the country.” http://saharareporters.com/2021/08/16/nigerian-army-pardons-new-batch-over-200-boko-haram-fighters-families |

If you understand demographic transition, you won't be bothering yourself advocating to some people to reduce the number of children they are giving birth to. Let them continue giving birth, they will learn the hard way. Apart from insecurity, these people also diein enormous from diseases and other hazards. It is a normal phase of development, you don't have to force them to change, they will realize it themselves. The number of communities that are currently abandoned in the North due to insecurity is mindblowing. The population will reduce gradually then they will born a lot of children again for another future disaster to kill, when they are tired, they will think. Anywhere there is high birth rate, there is bound to be high death rate except at the mid-developmental phase when death rate starts decreasing for some time before birth rate also starts decreasing. 4 Likes |

They probably should have divided that country, gives you a smaller territory to defend, and those who want to live in a strict islamic society can do so with their taliban, the rest can live in a free society, makes the job easier, better than a total loss. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Boko Haram surrender: Zulum begins high-level consultations, meets Defence Chief As part of his ongoing multi-stakeholders' consultations on the massive surrender by Boko Haram insurgents in different parts of Borno State, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum on Monday visited the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, in Abuja. The meeting, which was held behind closed doors, was in furtherance of Zulum’s resolve to widely consult security and Borno stakeholders towards developing a framework that would.address concerns raised over the surrender by members of the Boko Haram/ISWAP through the military’s ‘Operation Safe Corridor’ deployed as a psychological warfare to weaken the ranks of the terrorists. Governor Zulum arrived Abuja from Maiduguri same day and headed to the Office of the Chief of Defence. The governor is scheduled to hold series of other consultations. It would be recalled that Zulum had, on Saturday during his visit to Bama and Gwoza, addressed military commanders and community leaders. He had then disclosed plans to engage in a high-level consultation with President Muhammadu Buhari, the service chiefs and the resident security heads, traditional rulers, elders and religious leaders, national and state assembly members, academics, other stakeholders and victims of insurgents’ attacks with a view to addressing what he described as a difficult situation. The governor noted that though the surrender by thousands of insurgents provides a significant opportunity to end the 12 years of war, there were concerns that needed to be addressed. The concerns, bother on the feelings of victims as well as the confidence of citizens in the event repentant insurgents are to be reintegrated.
