Sizzorkay:
And yet your only issue with my statement was it's comparison to the N word?
Even when what you just said in the bolded, made clear it isn't a term people wanna throw around, how's that different from what i was trying to say? Moving on, good for you sir

"racial slur"
A derogatory nick-name generally used when talking shit about people from a specific race

Well in the same way many black folks, unfortunately, embrace the title of ghetto or hood, many whites also embrace the term redneck. Listen to country music and you'll notice how loads of songs have the artists referring to themselves as rednecks just as many black artists in hip hop songs refer to themselves as hood or ghetto. They have more to do with a type of lifestyle than it does race.

Former Military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida yesterday urged the military to evolve a new strategy to confront the terrorists.

Babangida, in his message on the 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, said the military was currently faced with “horrific challenges” in the crucial counter-insurgency war and activities of other blood-thirsty armed groups.

“Every year, our valiant Armed Forces majestically roll out their drums to honour our slain fallen heroes, with streams of organised fascinating events coming to a climax on 15th January.

“As we prepare to celebrate this year’s Remembrance Day, we should not be oblivious of the fact that our military is presently faced with horrific challenges in the crucial counter-insurgency war, and activities of other blood-thirsty armed groups.

“Hence, it is high time we seek to consolidate our gains and also fortify our combat strength. This is necessary as our Army is undeniably a professional military establishment that has over the years achieved remarkable successes in protecting our nation’s territorial integrity.

“Indeed, it is pertinent for the top echelons of our military to speedily evolve new combat strategy to bravely confront the callous terrorists who have continued to hold many parts of the North East, and in extension, Nigeria in ransom,” he said.

He urged the military to remain apolitical in the 2019 general elections.

“In recent times, elections have tested our unity as a people, while also posing threats to our socio-cultural diversity and challenging our common destiny. Nevertheless, I have a strong conviction that our Armed Forces will remain apolitical prior, during, and after the general elections, while focusing only on discharging their constitutional responsibility of safeguarding the country either from the aggression of internal rebels in the guise of Boko Haram insurgents or from external retrogressive forces,” he stated.

Babangida paid special tribute to some gallant troops incapacitated while at the theatre of war in the restive parts of the country and saluted “the uncommon bravery of our lion-hearted fallen heroes who paid the supreme price in their quest to defend our fatherland”.

He commended the Armed Forces for their resilience over the years in maintaining peace in Nigeria, the United Nations Missions, African Union and regional interventions.

At least, seven Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) and a number of Assistant Inspectors-General (AIGs) are expected to be swept away by the announcement of the appointment of the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) today.

Yesterday, it was gathered that President Muhammadu Buhari had shortlisted three AIGs, including Adamu Mohammed, as possible replacement for IGP Ibrahim Idris, who retires from the service today.

The DIGs who may be forced out after the new appointment include the DIGs in charge of Department of Finance and Administration, Mr. Maigari Abbati Dikko (fdc); Department of Operations, Mr. Habila Joshak and his counterpart in the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Mr. Emmanuel T. Inyang (mni).

Others are the DIG, Department of Logistics and Supply, Mr. Agboola Oshodi-Glover; the head of Department of Research and Planning, Mr. Musa Katsina Muhammed; Department of Training and Development, Mr. Mohammed Sani Usman and that of Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation, Mrs. Peace Ibekwe-Abdallah.

The expected action was reminiscent of the March 21, 2016 incident when Idris’ appointment as replacement for Solomon Arase, culminated in premature retirement of seven DIGs – Danazumi Doma, Sotonye Wakama, and Mamman Tsafe. Others were Kakwe Tsatso; Hashimu Argungu; Jubril Adeniji and Chintua Amajor-Onu.

The retired AIGs included Bala Hassan; Yahaya Ardo; Irmiya Yarima; Danladi Mshebwala; Tambari Mohammed; Bala Magaji Nasarawa; Musa Abdulsalam; Adisa Bolanta and Mohammed Gana.

Others were Umaru Manko; Lawal Tanko; Olufemi Adenike; Johnson Ogunsakin; Adenrele Shinaba; James Caulcrick; Olufemi Ogunbayode; Edgar Nanakumo; Kalafite Adeyemi; Patrick Dokumor; Joseph Mbu and Sabo Ringim.

Top presidency sources confirmed the selection of the three AIGs yesterday, stating that Idris, who clocked 60 years today, January 15, actually paid “a goodbye visit” to President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Idris arrived the Aso Villa at about 4:30p.m. yesterday and proceeded straight to the President’s office for the meeting.

Buhari had just returned from an official function in Abuja before meeting with the IGP.

A similar meeting was also held on Friday, January 4, shortly after the Jumma’at prayer between the President and the IGP.

Details of the closed door meeting between President Buhari and the IGP was not known as at the time of filing this report.

However, Presidency sources told New Telegraph last night that the President has picked Adamu Mohammed, who is serving at the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, near Jos and had served as AIG Zone 5, Benin, Edo State.
He was a Director of Peacekeeping Operations and is a former police commissioner in Enugu State.

Born on November 9, 1961, he enlisted in the police in 1986. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography.

A source close to the presidency, who preferred not to be named, confirmed that a replacement to the retiring IGP would be named today, among the shortlisted candidates.

“Yes, the IGP Ibrahim Idris is retiring tomorrow (today) and possibly an acting Inspector-General may be named immediately. But I will advise that you wait for official statement to that effect,” the source maintained.

Idris’ retirement today is pursuant to the Nigeria Public Service Rules (2008) Section 020818, which stipulates “the compulsory retirement age of all grades in the service shall be 60 years or 35 years of pensionable service, whichever comes earlier.”

Idris, who was born on January 15, 1959 attained the mandatory 60 years of age today having enlisted in the police in 1984, after graduating from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture and has put in 35 years in service.
Idris was appointed by President Buhari on June 21, 2016.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai says the valour and sacrifice of soldiers make a nation.

In a message on Wednesday to honour the fallen heroes on the occasion of the 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, Buratai said only heroes become soldiers.

“Every man is born a hero. It takes a hero to be a soldier.

“The Soldier-Heroes live forever. Their memories never die. Their valour and sacrifice make a nation.

“I commemorate the amazing selflessness of our fallen heroes who have paid the supreme price to ensure that our country remains indivisible,” he said.

Buratai saluted the courage and appreciated both retired and serving members of the Nigerian army for their commitment and loyalty.

“To the families of our departed colleagues, our love, thoughts and prayers are always with you.

“To the good people of Nigeria, I say thank you for your support and goodwill. May God bless our Armed Forces and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

OGA SHINE YOUR EYES: A convoy of BH were heading towards our location. My platoon was tasked to go and ambush them. After several hours lying in wait, they came, and we rained hell on them. It was so intense you couldn't hear your own rifle noise, only feel it jerk in your hand. It was the perfect ambush. Unknowingly, one of the insurgents was still alive, and opened fire, his bullet brushed my helmet and fell off. One of my men fired him and shouted, "Oga Shine Your Eye! That's what we call him now, and the helmet became my pillow, always. ...My wife believes God used the helmet to save me so I could come back to her. It's now kept as a monument in our house. We also used it in taking this picture of our baby. It was an unforgettable experience. (Maj. A)

BORNO WILL REGAIN ITS GLORY AGAIN...Gov Shettima

His Excellency the Executive Governo!r of Borno State Honourable Kashim Shettima has expressed confidence and optimism that Borno State will regain its glory again. The Governor stated this on Monday, 14 January, 2019 at Cashew Plantation, Maiduguri Borno State while flagging-off the commencement of Exercise EGWU EKE III (PYTHON DANCE) at 7 DIVISION STEP -UP Tactical Headquarters CASHEW PLANTATION, Maiduguri

The Governor who was represented at the occasion by the Speaker Borno State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Abdulkarim Lawan, applauds the untiring effort of the Nigerian Army in combating the menace of the Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) and insurgency, most especially in the North Eastern part of the country. In his words "We are proud of the Nigerian Army, and we are sure that Borno will regain its glory and the people will smile again" he stated.

He further gave his reassurance to continue collaborating with the Army and other security agencies in the State and emphasized that, the people of Borno are very optimistic that the launch of the Exercise will bring lasting peace and tranquility to the State. Governor Kashim therefore urged the NA to continue with the good work by maintaining the synergy with other security agencies and remain apolitical as the election draws nearer.

Similarly, the Theatre Commander (TC) Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Benson Akinroluyo commended the effort and commitment of the leadership, officers and men of 7 Division, while appreciating the State Government for their support he gave his assurance to monitor every step of the Exercise to ensure the aim is achieved in due course.

Earlier in his remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 Operation Lafiya Dole, Brigadier General Abdulmalik Bulama Biu stated that the Exercise is an Internal Security Operation aimed at checkmating the activities of criminals as well as to ensure the smooth conduct of the forthcoming general elections. He added that the Python will no doubt swallow all criminals and insurgents, while the people of Borno will peacefully exercise their franchise unhindered.

While appreciating the State Government for its support and cooperation, General Bulama reiterated that the Flag-Off of the Exercise is to consolidate on the successes recorded so far in Python Dance 1and 2 which was launched last year in the Eastern part of the country. He therefore use the opportunity to warn all criminal elements and would be election thugs to stay clear else they face the raging wrath of the Python coupled with the fierce fighting spirit of the dogged and gallant troops of 7 Division Nigerian Army.

The highlight of the event was the handing over of the Exercise Flag by the GOC, the Official Flag Off by the representative of His Excellency, Governor Kashim Shettima and the commencement of confidence building patrols and show of force.

Present at the occasion were Formation and Unit Commanders, Principal Staff Officers within HQ Theatre Command and 7 Division, Commanding Officers, heads of various security agencies, officers and men from other security agencies, troops of 7 Division Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) as well as members of the press.

Bokoharam will not stop attacking Rann until the FG/Army create a standardized base. Rann is too open and easy for any attack.

Bokoharam will surely want to cart enough weapons there before the raining season because once its raining there is no more access to Rann for three months.

Bokoharam for try Gamboru Ngala if body no go tell them.

I miss Rann
