Cheap points

Most if not all those land surveillance radars are free gifts donated by govt of Germany around 2016 due to efforts of good civilian members of the public who begged German embassy Abuja to please give modern equipment to Nigerian army so we can gain upper hand over Boko Haram. Stingy Germans did not give us leopard tanks grin. That NA officer complaining is poorly trained, the radars are good, NA could not handle its sophistication, too advanced for them, not willing to spend dollars send operators on training course in Germany, they do ijebu reading user manuals. Hi-tech hardware need special full training courses overseas by manufacturer. He is condemning hi-tech radar Germany made, which one did his country produce? grin

This was exactly what I was telling someone...How will NA start manufacturing it's own vehicle when we already have indigenous companies like Proforce and Innoson already in existence sad..
The money that is budgeted for this NAVMC would have been better used when given to Proforce to improve or make more of the ARA..This will in turn increase the level of production...And also give NA More Time to work on their strategies and trainings

But #ThisisNigeria smiley smiley

Hmmmm true talk! Wonder how NA got 600 armoured vehicles and now looking for transmission and engine, wetin you buy, just the empty metal body was imported? We now have money tied down, they have problem of patent right, its acmat bastion infantry personnel carrier old model from France, to re-engine and rename and re-market as na-cv can cause legal patent trouble. The bastion ipc was made specially for African Sahara desert, so Chad, Cameroon, Burkina, Senegal, Somalia, etc all use it. How we got 600 carcases of acmat bastion ipc is the big question, all this secrecy about imported things that France has full details, many soldiers dont even know anything about the deal, the ones that gave out the full name and specs dont have info about the purchase money, so just a clique is doing all by themselves, with public funds, hmmmm! Na waaaaah o!

New fully built bastion ipc can cost over $500,000. Should FG risk more dollars on this bastion conversion project? How economical? How long have these 600 bastions 'laid waste' in NA boneyard? As proforce can deliver equal capability afv fully brand new at $150,000 paid for , so which is better option now?

Specs for bastion: 1,000 km range on one fuel tank, 110 kmh speed, ballistic stanag 2 body/under tyres, resist 7.62mm/6kg mine, twin roof weapon stations, desertized mechanics, real good for N.E. CTCOIN. If they humble themselves and voice out, help will come so NA can put 600 afv into battle against those N.E. animalistic terrorists, but when you corner everything how will helpers come rescue you?

To claim made in Nigeria armoured vehicle with imported body ready made, engine fully made, transmission fully made, then you put NA logo and name on top, and tell all Nigerians its made in Nigeria? French embassy will file law suit to your office on Monday morning grin unless we get patent right permit. When you dont don things open and clear, dis kain wahala enter your trouser grin grin

Only a fool will think Boko Haram is not seriously searching for funds to get their hands on these manpads. Reason why paying ransoms isnt an option at this moment. Painful as it may seem.

BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS DO NOT EARN MORE THAN THE NIGERIAN SOLDIER

The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to a publication on Sahara Reporters and other social media platforms, to a false claim credited to one Doctor Sidi Ali Mohammed, a member of the Presidential Committee on the North East Initiative. In it, he alleged that the criminal terrorist group members earn as much as $3,000 daily, as against the Nigerian soldier who is paid N1,000 only. This is not true, pure lie and highly irresponsible comment coming from a supposedly knowledgeable person of his calibre.

It is also criminal and preposterous to compare the gallant soldiers of our Armed Forces with the rag tag terrorists’ criminal gang. Indeed there is no such basis at all between the outlawed criminal terrorist who commits crime against humanity and our highly patriotic, courageous and brave soldiers whose sacrifice cannot be quantified.

Over time, we have been alerting the world that the menace of Boko Haram terrorism is being aided and abetted by sympathizers’ such as Doctor Sidi Ali Mohammed. He must have been associated with the terrorists’ group beyond what he may want the public to know for having the knowledge of how much a terrorist earns per day to commit atrocities against fellow Nigerians and other innocent people including women and children. His statement could be part of the deliberate attempt to demoralise the patriotic soldiers serving their fatherland so that the terrorists will take advantage of it. It is also a way of swaying the gullible youths to believe the lies of Boko Haram terrorists as being peddled by him.

Therefore, we are calling on all Nigerians to discountenance the statement credited to Doctor Sidi Ali Mohammed; while we take necessary steps to formally report him to the appropriate authorities to further substantiate these unfounded allegations.
We would like to assure the public that the Nigerian Army would remain resolute and focused in the fight against terrorism and insurgency in our great nation and no amount of distraction or terrorists’ propaganda will dissuade it.

If any black market arms dealer deals in modern manpads he will get fuuuucked by one of the or some of the or all the Intel agencies of the world. Manpad is a serious threat to civilian airliners, not taken lightly.

NAF DID NOT IGNORE DISTRESS CALL ON BANDITS’ ATTACK AT MAKWA VILLAGE IN BUNGUDU LGA, ZAMFARA STATE

The attention of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has been drawn to a publication on the front page of the Punch Newspaper of 1 May 2019, attributed to the Emir of Bungudu, alleging that the NAF ignored a distress call when armed bandits attacked Makwa Village in Kura Mota District of Bungudu Local Government Area (LGA) in Zamfara State on Saturday, 27 April 2019. According to the report, the Emir also claimed that the LGA Chairman, while supposedly alerting the NAF Commander, was allegedly told, by the Commander, that he was not supposed to have picked the Chairman’s call, “since you people have decided to disgrace us”. In addition, the report claimed that a Punch Correspondent had contacted the NAF for a response on that specific issue after the incident.

The NAF wishes to state categorically that the said report and the alleged remarks by the Emir of Bungudu are fraught with errors and inconsistencies, deliberately concocted to disparage the good name and reputation of the Service. The report is also unprofessional and disingenuous. For the avoidance of doubts, the public is to please note that the NAF first received information about the attack on Makwa Village from the Headquarters Operation Sharan Daji (HQ OPSD) at about 1934hrs on Saturday, 27 April 2019, even before the LGA Chairman called the NAF Commander. A Team of NAF Special Forces (SF) personnel was therefore immediately dispatched to Makwa, which is about 12Km off the road into the forest, with barely motorable tracks. As at the time the Bungudu LGA Chairman called, the Commander informed him, without any acrimony or recriminations, that the NAF Team was already on its way to the village. However, by the time the SF Team arrived and surgically stormed the village, to avoid attacking innocent civilians, the bandits had already fled.

It must also be highlighted that the Newspaper displayed gross unprofessionalism in the fact that it did not make any attempt whatsoever to contact the NAF on the issues relating to the incident at Makwa Village before publishing its story. Rather, it chose to rely on a previous interview granted a few days before the incident in Makwa Village. By relying on the earlier interview, which was on a related subject but not particularly addressing the incident of 27 April 2019, Punch Newspapers succeeded in misrepresenting facts.

The NAF finds it rather mischievous that anyone would spread such deliberate misinformation whilst the Service is doing its best to effectively respond to the challenges facing the good people of Zamfara State and its environs. The NAF, as a professional Service, remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians. Accordingly, we shall continue to work assiduously, in synergy with sister Services and other security agencies, to rid the Northwest of all criminal elements. The general public can therefore rest assured that the NAF will not be deterred but will sustain its operations to facilitate a return to normalcy that would enable Nigerians in the area pursue their legitimate aspirations.
