Normality:. Guy this is simple and basic law off demands in second economics. Increse in demand leads to rise in price off a commodity and vis verser. If u trully love GEJ u shld heed to his advice to supportt GMB cos dis is one Nigeria. Priorr to the election with the fear of post election violence there was high in demand for dollars os pple were leaving the country in so doing changing their Naira to dollar (high demand for dollar) after the election with no violence pple will set to return to their base hence changing the dollar back to naira (so, rise in Naira demand consequently increase in its price). So expect a drasitical rise in Naira even after the governoship election when every body both foreigners and indigine will tends to come bak to their base and continue their business. God bless Nigeria, God bless me nd my family, God bless GEJ, God bless GMB 1 Like |

Normality: illiteracy is indeed not limited to inability to write and read. As much as i do not agree with Sanusi in what he said, is it not ideal that a reasonable reader thinks that If d president had not decided to dollarized his campaign, d abokis would have not had their grip on the economy, that is if actually ur accusation is anything deserving thought. Maybe is d abokis that reduce a whole country's(giant of Africa) reserve to $29billion, that amount is less than what dangote has as equity in his upcoming refinery, that is what Nigeria as a nation is relying on. Maybe it were the abokis that told him to flew raw dollars from Nigeria to South Africa for a purported arms deal while the poor masses are being sanction(bank charges) for failing to abide by cashless policy. If Jonah had taken full control as d Nigerian chief security officer, i dont think tens of whatever Buhari may had said in 2011 would have been enough to lost an inch of d nation's territory to terrorist group. U better prepare ur future by have objective analysis of things rather than engulf urself in subjective and emotion laden judgement. |

usd is not green back, but green bag or buck. when nigerian economy pegs itself on production/manufacture instead of consumption and export of raw material, usd will depreciate against naira, going back to the good old days of 2 usd to 1 naira. you can't sit on a fortune like nigeria does with little or no innovative effort to make it beneficial and you must be dreaming if your image is not as bad as the drunk who earned wages only to spend it on intoxicant so that the mind is dulled to stupor. for me the nigerian businessman of the year if not of the decade is by far the automobile manufacturer. he is head and shoulders over other that are just within the statuesque refusing to be bold and think outside the box. i am not so sure if it is the fault of individual nigerians or the government on one hand practicing socialism economy instead of bold market driven capitalism. the individual entrepreneurs needs incentives in the ways and amounts needed to function and compete both locally and globally as necessary. |

IVORY2009: You started the fight. Ignorance is not a crime you know, you didn't have to so childish about it. @EroticAngelina Please permit me to explain In simple summary, the naira may go back to #150 to $1 For now, it is currently #204 People are changing the dollars they held back to naira. Why? Because they are expecting good things to come from Buhari. Because of the change, the naira has gotten stronger. Who knows maybe Buhari will really make it $1 to #1? I hope it is clear for everyone else who did not understand the post. If there is anything I forgot to mention, other enlightened posters should add instead of being so shallow to insult the curious. |

IVORY2009: Explain to me what you mean by trouble? I am not well-versed in Nigerian English. Was my explanation wrong? If it was, please kindly point out my errors. I am sorry, what do you mean by 'you have to idea about' ? Was my summary so bad to the point that your rickety fingers and your dull eyes had to type without thinking? I advise you take your prescribed medications. I am told they help you relax. |

Re: Naira Set To Rise Further This Week by ibrokola(m): 11:58am On Apr 06, 2015 |
EroticAngelina:Lol dear. Are you familiar with the law of demand and supply. Basically it says that when a particular commodity (dollars) is in high demand and its supply is low (scarcity), the cost will be higher! Therefore in Nigeria, before the elections, politicians bought up almost all the dollars in circulation, leading to its scarcity. Due to this scarcity, 1 dollar that was usually sold around N190 was now sold for around N235. But now that elections are over, those who were given dollars during campaign are now selling it back( thus supply has exceeded demand for dollars) therefore driving down the cost of dollars back to 197. I hope you understand it now! |
