Jimi Agbaje's Closing Statement by davidque007(m): 11:47pm On Apr 09, 2015
A closing statement from PDP Gubernatorial candidate, Jimi Agbaje...
To the good people of Lagos: As today winds down and our campaign officially comes to a close, let me be the first to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers, support and well-wishes throughout the course of this campaign.
A little over 3-months ago, I set out on a bold journey to CHANGE how government works not just for a few elites but for ordinary people.
It was clear from the beginning that I would face a formidable adversary in the APC - an incumbent party with a political machinery built and honed over the last 16-years. But I understood that as a candidate if I presented my case with the utmost level integrity; if I spoke from the heart about the challenges and the opportunities that we face as a state, the people will in return respond. I knew if I anchored my vision on the very values that shaped me as a young man as well as the principles of empathy, hard work and integrity that have guided me in life, Lagosians will come out of every nook and cranny of this vibrant state to support my candidacy.

Today, each and everyone of you have made this campaign what it is. With your voice, you have created a new narrative in our local politics. A narrative where ideas matter and ordinary people do have a say in future of our state. Because you chose to participate, we've been able to challenge the status-quo. Because you chose not to settle for nothing other than the best, our impending victory is in clear sight.

Lagos, this is our time to rewrite history. This is our moment of CHANGE. But we must have the courage to press on to the very end. From tomorrow, I encourage each and everyone of you to reach out to your friends, families and neighbours and make sure they all come out to VOTE. And as you vote, let's ensure that we're orderly, peaceful and vigilant. Come Saturday, April 11, let's make it clear to the establishment that we're sick and tired of corruption and the undue influence of vested interests in our state.
After tonight my online and social media handles will go quiet in respect for INECs campaign rules and guidelines. For me, it has been the greatest honour of my political life to have run in this race. With your support, I look forward to the privilege of serving as your Governor.
Once again, I thank you. #‎Lagosforyou #‎LagosforAll

I am yet to see any Igbo man that will want to
vote for Ambode.
Yoruba votes willl be divided between Ambode
and Agbaje.
The survey I have had in the past 5days:
-Okada riders say they won't vote for APC
because Fashola seized their bikes. These
okada riders are mostly northerners.
Infact, they have had meetings concerning the
election.
-Commercial bus drivers say they won't vote
APC because agberos keep extorting money
from them
-Shop owners say they won't vote APC
because of illegal and excessive tax they pay
to government
-market women say they won't vote APC
because shopping malls built by LASG is too
expensive. Oyingbo and Suru-Alaba market
women comes to mind
Land owners/property developers say they
won't vote APC because Omonile give them
problems.
It will take a miracle for Ambode to win. I am
an APC supporter but I fear the outcome of
the governorship results in Lagos.
Someone should please tell our President elect that we voted for Buhari and not APC!
Now we are voting Agbaje and not PDP!
Meanwhile Fashola has been everywhere doing the talking. While I still love and respect him. Is Fashola running for Governor or Ambode? I won't vote anyone who can't come out to win my vote. Oops Jimi already did. I won't vote for someone who can't speak for himself. Eloquence of a bus conductor and a mere book cooker! Someone whose indigeneship has a comma!
Jaykay we know! Jaykay we want!

I though PDP goons said only conductors talk about 'change'?

Is JK now a conductor too?
